The Oke ogun Polytechnic, Saki was granted autonomy as State Polytechnic in Oyo State in the year 2014 under the leadership of His Excellency Isiak Abiola Ajimobi.
The first academic session was National Diploma 2015/16 academic session.
The first HND Graduate are 2016/2017 academic session.
The Pioneer rector of TOPS is Mr. Mathew Olaniyi Oladeji.
