Hyperthyroidism*

Hyperthyroidism is a disorder in which the thyroid gland produces excessive amounts of thyroid hormones,causing the body's metabolism to speed up.

*Causes:*
1.Graves' disease (most common)
2.Toxic multinodular goiter
3.Thyroiditis
4.Excess iodine intake
5.Excess thyroid hormone medication

*Signs and Symptoms* :
1.Weight loss despite increased appetite
2.Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia)
3.Nervousness, anxiety, and irritability
4.Heat intolerance and excessive sweating
5.Tremors
6.Insomnia
7.Goiter (enlarged thyroid)
8.Frequent bowel movements

*Hypothyroidism*

Hypothyroidism is a disorder in which the thyroid gland produces insufficient thyroid hormone, causing the body's metabolism to slow down.
*Causes:*

1.Hashimoto's thyroiditis (most common)
2.Iodine deficiency
3.Thyroid surgery

*Signs and Symptoms:*

1.Fatigue
2.Weight gain
3.Cold intolerance
4.Dry skin
5.Constipation
6.Slow heartbeat (bradycardia)
7.Depression
8.Puffy face
