DID YOU KNOW? | S. R. RANGANATHAN

Meet Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan (1892–1972), the renowned Indian librarian, mathematician, and scholar widely regarded as the Father of Library Science in India.

His contributions transformed librarianship and continue to influence the profession today. Among his major contributions are the Five Laws of Library Science and the Colon Classification, one of the pioneering faceted classification systems.

This principle remains relevant today as libraries continue to evolve with changing technologies, information needs, and user expectations.

At FUOYE Library , we continue to embrace this spirit of growth by strengthening our resources, services, and support for teaching, learning, and research.
