📢 PARENTS, PLEASE TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN

As parents and guardians, we have a duty that goes beyond just paying school fees and providing lunch money. We must be present in our children’s emotional, mental, and moral upbringing. School is meant to be a place of learning, growth, and building a better future—not a battlefield.

Sadly, a tragic incident has occurred. A young life is gone, and another boy—once seen as the “big boy”—is now left to face the full consequences of his actions. Two families shattered. One child buried, another behind bars. All because of a fight that should never have happened.

This is not just a story; it’s a warning.

Parents, engage with your children. Know their struggles. Teach them conflict resolution. Help them understand that violence is never the answer, and one wrong decision can change lives forever.

Let this message be shared across all school platforms. Let it spark conversations at dinner tables and during school drop-offs. Let’s raise children who value life, peace, and respect.

Happy Children’s Day!

Today, we celebrate the beauty, wonder, and limitless potential of every child.

Not every child will top the class or follow the crowd. And that’s okay. Because every child is uniquely designed by God—with gifts, dreams, and a purpose the world hasn’t seen before.

Some children are thinkers. Some are creators. Some are leaders in the making. But all of them deserve to be seen, heard, and guided with love.

Dear parents, teachers, and caregivers:
Look beyond the grades.
Listen beyond the noise.
There’s a treasure in every child—your job is to discover it, nurture it, and speak life over it.

Pray for them. Encourage them. Be patient with them.
Because the child you raise today could be the one who changes the world tomorrow.

Let’s raise children with wisdom, purpose, and faith.

BEYOND THE PAPER: RETHINK EDUCATION

1. EDUCATION IS A MEANS, NOT THE END

Education equips you with tools—thinking, analyzing, researching, relating. But a certificate? That’s just proof you completed a process, not proof you're prepared for life.

Don’t worship degrees. Celebrate growth. Real education shows up when the lectures stop—through critical thinking, discipline, and problem-solving.

2. KNOWLEDGE ISN’T ENOUGH—ACTION IS POWER

A degree may teach you, but only action transforms you. Life doesn't pay for what you know; it pays for what you do with what you know.

So, go beyond memorizing—create solutions, deliver value, spark change.

3. DEGREES OPEN DOORS—SKILLS AND CHARACTER KEEP THEM OPEN

Yes, qualifications matter—but they only get your foot in the door. Staying there? That’s about competence, creativity, and character.

Grow beyond your textbooks. Sharpen your communication, leadership, teamwork, and innovation. That's the real currency.

4. REAL LIFE BEGINS OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

No curriculum teaches self-awareness, emotional resilience, or street wisdom.

So get out there—volunteer, start projects, meet people, take risks. Life lessons live in the wild, not just in lecture halls.

5. PURPOSE OVER PRESTIGE

Don’t chase degrees for applause or status. Pursue knowledge that aligns with your calling.

A fancy degree in the wrong field is just a stylish trap. But purpose-driven skills, no matter how simple, are your freedom key.

FINAL THOUGHT: EDUCATION IS A TOOL—YOU ARE THE ASSET

Honor your education, but don’t let it define or confine you. Your certificate is a launchpad, not a limit. Turn learning into living. Let purpose lead. Be the answer your generation is waiting for.

THE DIFFERENCE ONE TEACHER MAKES

In a quiet town in Enugu State, a 14-year-old boy named Vincent Achapuo had already been written off. Labeled a “hopeless case” and branded the “bad boy,” he was the student every teacher dreaded — defiant, disconnected, and seen as a waste of potential.

Every educator who crossed his path walked away defeated.

All except one.

This teacher didn’t see a lost cause — they saw untapped promise. Where others punished, this teacher persisted. With steady patience and unwavering belief, they gave Vincent something he’d never truly known: someone who saw him, someone who cared.

That belief sparked something in the boy. He began to change.

From “troublemaker” to university graduate. From outcast to lawyer. From lawyer to Senator, then Governor of a major state, and ultimately to a national leadership role.

All because one teacher refused to give up.

Years later, at the University of Lagos, a team of postgraduate students was tasked with studying 200 boys from some of the most underprivileged neighborhoods in Ajegunle. Based on the boys' environment and conditions, the prediction was grim: 90% were expected to end up in prison.

But when the researchers followed up 25 years later, they were stunned — only four had ever been incarcerated.

How?

Time and again, the men gave the same answer:

“There was this teacher…”

Not a program. Not a system. Not a policy.

A person.

One woman who showed up day after day, who believed when no one else did. Who loved when others judged. Who spoke hope, challenged mediocrity, and reminded them they mattered.

When asked her secret, she simply said,
“I loved my students.”

This is the power of one teacher.

The world may overlook you. Society may underestimate your influence. But history is shaped not only in government buildings or news headlines — it is shaped in classrooms, by educators who plant seeds of hope and never stop watering them.

Your words shape their thinking.
Your example shapes their character.
Your belief becomes the blueprint for their own.

In every act of kindness, every correction made with care, every moment you choose love over frustration — you are changing lives.

You are not just teaching lessons.
You are writing futures.

So when the days grow heavy and the work feels thankless, remember this:

You are the one who might turn a struggling child into a community leader.
You are the one who may rescue a soul from despair.
You are the one who shows them what’s possible — simply by believing.

Never forget the difference you make.

You are more than a teacher.

You are a guide, a builder, a lifeline.

You are the one who makes the difference.

Happy Resumption!!!

Dear Educators,

Please don’t overlook the quiet child in your classroom.

You know the one—the student who arrives each day without a fuss.
The one who doesn’t raise their hand or call out.
Who follows instructions, keeps their desk tidy, and never disrupts.
We often label them as “well-behaved” and move on.

But here’s the truth:
Silence doesn’t always mean peace.
Neatness doesn’t always reflect contentment.
And being no trouble doesn’t always mean they’re okay.

Sometimes, that quietness hides anxiety.
Sometimes, that compliance masks fear.
And too often, those students get overlooked—not out of malice, but because their quiet nature doesn’t demand attention.

In a school day filled with loud voices and urgent issues, the silent ones can easily slip through the cracks.

But every child deserves to be seen.
Every child deserves to be heard.
Every child deserves to feel valued—not for what they do, but simply for who they are.

So, let’s change the narrative.

As school leaders and educators, we must make intentional space for the quiet child:

Check in with them, even when they say they're fine.

Invite them into group activities without forcing them to perform.

Pair them with empathetic, observant teachers.

Create safe spaces for them to express themselves in their own time.

Encourage your staff to look beyond disruptive behaviour as the only sign of need.
Let your school be a place where every child, including the quiet ones, feels safe, seen, and celebrated.

Because you're doing more than running a school—
You're shaping a world where every child matters.

Let’s keep building that world—together.
