Food for Thought 🇳🇬
In Nigeria’s complex power structure, one lesson keeps repeating itself:
unity sustains influence.
Across our many tribes, the Yoruba stand out—not by chance, but by deliberate culture, strong networks, and collective strategy. They preserve identity, close ranks when it matters, and rarely walk alone.
Even in today’s political reality—where we’ve seen a Muslim–Muslim ticket and a President married to a devoted Christian—the underlying message is deeper than religion or party lines:
👉 power survives where unity exists.
History shows that even when foreign interests intervene, those who are organized, culturally grounded, and united often gain the upper hand. This is not superiority—it is ancient wisdom.
Other tribes don’t need rivalry; they need endorsement of unity.
Because no group thrives in isolation.
Never work alone.
Nation-building is a team sport. 🧩

PRESS STATEMENT
NPCP Convocation 2026: A New Era for Professional Procurement in Nigeria
The Nigeria Procurement Certification Programme (NPCP) Convocation 2026, held on January 29, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja, marked a defining moment in Nigeria’s ongoing public procurement reform agenda.
The Convocation ceremony brought together top government functionaries, development partners, procurement experts, and certified professionals to celebrate a major milestone in strengthening transparency, accountability, and professionalism within Nigeria’s procurement ecosystem.
The NPCP is implemented by the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) under the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement (SPESSE) Project, with the support of the World Bank Group. The programme is designed to institutionalise a globally competitive procurement workforce and reposition procurement as a strategic tool for national development rather than a mere administrative function.
The event witnessed the formal induction and certification of procurement officers who successfully completed intensive training, digital learning modules, professional examinations, and competency-based assessments in line with the Nigeria Procurement Professional Competency Framework (NPPCF).
High-level dignitaries of the Federal Republic of Nigeria graced the ceremony, reflecting the strong political will of the present administration to entrench reforms that promote value-for-money, fiscal discipline, and sustainable governance across public institutions.
Speaking through the programme structure and outcomes, the Convocation reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to building procurement systems that align with international best practices while responding effectively to Nigeria’s development priorities.
The NPCP Convocation 2026 stands not only as a graduation ceremony but as a national declaration of intent — that Nigeria is firmly committed to professionalism, competence, and integrity in public procurement practice.
As certified professionals are released into Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), they are expected to serve as reform ambassadors, driving efficiency, accountability, and sustainable public service delivery nationwide.
The Convocation therefore represents a strategic leap toward strengthening institutional capacity and advancing Nigeria’s economic transformation through credible and professional procurement systems.
