IMSU MAKES FEMALE HOSTEL COMPULSORY FOR ALL 2019/2020 NEWLY ADMITTED FEMALE STUDENTS

The management of Imo State University (IMSU) has mandated that all 2019/2020 newly admitted female students must live in the school's female hostel except the parents come to the Dean, student affairs office to sign undertaking for sign out.

According to an exclusive statement, and directives made today by the Dean Student Affairs Prof. Nwankwo Uchenna Martins the reason for this compulsion is to put an end to cohabitation among students.

Cohabitation here is an arrangement where two or more people are not married but live together. They often involve a romantic or s*xually intimate relationship on a long-term or permanent basis.... More broadly, it implies an emotional and physical intimate relationship which includes a common living place especially between opposite s*x and which exists without legal or religious sanction.

This directive aside cohabitation also stems from life-threatening problems that have occurred in times past among students of opposite s*x who cohabited. It will also help protect the female child against other off-shoot of cohabitation.

This development is also sequel to the efforts of the management to curtail the incessant challenges her students encounter since the inception of the University which ranges from high rate of increment in off campus hostel rents, insecurity, social vices, lack of adequate water and power supply to poor facilities in various off campus hostels, unwarranted arrest and detention of her students who could be ignorant of a crime committed within their jurisdiction of residence but victims of massive arrest etc.

Therefore, Parents, sponsors or guardians who wish to opt out from the compulsory hostel accommodation are directed to go along with the student to the student affairs directorate to make it official and sign undertaking.

All newly admitted female students are by this notice directed to visit the directorate of student affairs for inquiries on how to secure accommodation in the school hostel.


NOTE: This new directive takes immediate effect.

This is to inform all the prospective students of Imo State University, IMSU, that the school management has just released the 1st Batch Admission lists of candidates who have been offered provisional admission into the Institution for the 2019/2020 Academic Session.

Steps To Check:

Step 1: Visit IMSU Admission checking portal at HERE >>

Step 2: Enter your Jamb Registration Number in the space provided and

Step 3: Select your session (i.e. 2018-2019) and click on the ‘submit’ button

Step 4: Generate an invoice and proceed to the bank for payment

Step 5: After payment, you can proceed to check your admission status from the link in step 1.

Note: The IMSU admission checking PIN is currently sold at IMSU Microfinance Bank, Imo State Microfinance Bank, UBA, Zenith bank for N1,200.00 only. Supplementary Registration will commence soon.

2019/2020 IMO STATE UNIVERSITY OWERRI POST UTME EXAMINATION DATES ARE OUT

IMSU EDUCATION wishes to inform all IMSU Post Utme candidates that the 2019/2020 Computer Based Test (CBT) screening date is out!
All Post Utme candidates are directed to come for the screening exercise with the following requirements as stated below:
1. IMSU PUTME ACKNOWLEDGMENT SLIP
2. JAMB NOTIFICATION RESULT SLIP
The Screening exercise will be a computer based test - CBT (Examination written with a computer). We advise candidates to prepare very well for their exam to enable them make better scores that will give them a higher chance to make the Merit Admission list.

NOTE: Candidates who did not choose IMSU as their First Choice of institution are advised to do so as soon as possible. Candidates are also adivsed to visit any accredited JAMB CBT CENTER to Upload their O'level results online. Failure to do so will make them stand the risk of not gaining admission.

IMSU NYSC Batch ‘B’ Stream II Prospective Names Uploaded


This is to inform The general public and Prospective Corp members of Imo State University that NYSC Batch 'B' Stream 2 mobilization list has been uploaded and Prospects will officially go for service on Sunday, 21st of July, 2019.

However, prospective corp members can start checking the senate/academic Board approved mobilization list on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) portal for free from Friday June 28.


The deadline for registration has been graciously extended to July 19th. Direct all questions regarding ‘date of birth’ ‘name correction’ to the Students Affairs Unit.


Please be guided accordingly as we keep working towards achieving the Vice Chancellor's narrative of ensuring that qualified graduates go for service.

2019/2020 POST UTME FORM ON SALE

This is to inform all Imo State University prospective aspirants that the sale of the 2019/2020 POST UTME FORM will kick off on the 1st of July and end on the 30th of July, 2019.

The University will be using POST UTME to admit eligible candidates chose Imo State University as first choice and scored 180 and above in JAMB.

In addition, candidates must have at least five (5) credit level passes in their relevant O'level subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

The POST UTME Examination is scheduled to take place from Monday 19th August, 2019 and ends on Friday 23rd August, 2019.

NOTE: make sure IMSU is your first choice institution... If not, go get a Jamb change of institution form...

The post utme might likely be out by July

The 2019 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria has approved 160 and above as the national minimum benchmark for admission for the year 2019 into public universities.

The meeting held at Bola Babalakin Auditorium, Gbongan, Osun State, on Tuesday also approved 140 as minimum UTME score for admission into private universities.

JAMB, Institutions Approve 160 as Cut-off Mark for 2019 Admission
For public polytechnic, 120 UTME score was approved, while 110 score was approved as the least score for admission into private polytechnic.

For colleges of education, 100 and above was approved as the cut-off marks.

This means that the 2019 Admission process has just begun. Schools will begin announcing their Post-UTME sales forms and screening dates any moment from now.
