Children's day, which is celebratedannually in Nigeria on May 27, is dedicated to celebrating children all over the world, and for adults to remember their childhood
experiences. The earliest celebration of children's day can be traced back to the United States of America in 1857, where a certain Pastor Charles Leonard held a service for children at his church. Locally, the service became known as children's day. After then, similar activities to celebrate children began to occur in different parts of the world.

The international children's day was first marked in Turkey on April 23, 1920. Later, on June 1, 1925, during the world conference on the welfare of children, the international children's day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. The idea of a universal children's day was adopted by the United Nation's General Assembly on November 20, 1954. Consequently, November 20 became the universal Children's Day. Notwithstanding this declaration, the day is celebrated on different dates in different countries. For example, China is June 1st, Japan May 5th, Britain August 20th. Much more important is the fact that God, who made us has special love and affection for little children.

This is the reason why heaven celebrates children everyday especially sinful boys and girls who repent, turn away from their bad ways to follow Jesus. If you are still a sinner, repent now and accept Jesus as your personal Saviour and Lord. The day you take this important and unique step is the special day of your life. Happy children's day
