People don't easily open up themselves to others.
I reached out to a senior friend for business guidance, he asked me to come over, I did and we discussed.
He gave me some wonderful advice and tips on how to handle the issue at hand. I was very happy not just for the advice he gave me but for the access to him and also his willingness to grant me access to his wealth of knowledge.
I consciously start getting close to him, despite our closeness, I never allowed familiarity to override my sense of respect and honour for him.
I make sure I honor him with gifts and make myself available whenever he needs my attention.
When he lost his mother, I made myself available for two days during and after the burial, I rendered as much service as I can both financially and materially.
After the service, he called me into his office.
There is this challenge he keeps helping me out with solutions whenever issues come up but on that day,
He told me how to avoid the issues in the first place.
I was dumbfounded, like wow, I never thought of even how to avoid the problem in the first place.
He smiled and said.
You earned it,
It took me years to become what I am today, with incredible and crazy sacrifices.
I don't give it out casually to anybody, I have watched you over and over, I see the fire in you and your commitment.
I won't hide anything from you.
I learned a lot from that event.
He knew this solution since but he keep telling me how to solve it instead of how to avoid the problem.
People won't give you they all until you prove you deserve it.
Just because people allow you into their space doesn't mean you deserve their inner secrets.
There are treasures in people you can only access through honour.
Don't allow familiarity reap you off your blessing. People are carriers of blessing.
