Title: The two sides of Jake.

Part 2.

A few days later, during a youth Bible study, the topic was true obedience. The leader explained that obedience to God is not just about public display but begins at home—with parents, in private moments, and in everyday actions.

Jake felt uneasy. It was as if the message was directed straight at him.

That night, as he lay in bed, he replayed his recent actions—ignoring his mother, arguing with his father, pretending to be someone he wasn’t. For the first time, he realized something: he had been living a double life.

The next morning, Jake did something unusual. Before his mother could call him, he walked into the kitchen.

“Good morning, Mom. How can I help?”

His mother looked surprised but smiled.

From that day forward, Jake began to change—not perfectly, but intentionally. He still attended church and remained active, but now he understood that his faith had to reflect in his behavior at home too.

Gradually, his parents noticed the difference. There were fewer arguments, more respect, and a willingness to listen.

One evening, his father placed a hand on his shoulder and said, “I’m proud of you, Jake—not just for who you are in church, but for who you are becoming at home.”

Jake smiled, knowing that this time, his actions truly matched his beliefs.

END.

Title: The Two Sides of Jake

Part 1

Jake was only fourteen, but anyone who met him would quickly notice how disciplined he seemed—at least in public. He lived in a large, well-furnished house with his parents, who provided him with everything he could ever need. From the latest gadgets to the best schools, Jake lacked nothing. His life was comfortable, even enviable.

Every Sunday, Jake was the first to arrive at church. He sang loudly in the choir, participated actively in youth programs, and was always eager to volunteer. The church members admired him deeply. “Such a devoted young boy,” they would say. Even the pastor often used Jake as an example of commitment and faith.

But there was another side of Jake that no one at church saw.

At home, things were very different.

“Jake, please turn off that game and come help set the table,” his mother would call.

“In a minute!” Jake would reply—except that minute often turned into an hour.

His father would ask him to complete his homework before watching TV, but Jake would ignore the instruction, choosing instead to do what pleased him. When corrected, he would argue, roll his eyes, or walk away. Sometimes, he even spoke rudely to his parents.

One evening, after returning from a powerful church service where Jake had led a prayer session, his father sat him down.

“Jake,” he began calmly, “why is it that you show so much respect and obedience in church, but not at home?”

Jake shrugged. “It’s different, Dad. Church is… church.”

His father looked at him thoughtfully. “Is God only in church?”

That question stayed with Jake longer than he expected.

TEACHERS, STOP GIVING PARENTS HOME WORK!

Part 1

As a teacher in today's educational system, it is wrong to pile up home fun for children to go home with daily considering the school's closing time and how occupied parents of today are.

It will be out of context to say that parents are not doing their job.

If you as a teacher handle your part well, then we can begin to look on the other side.

GIVE LESS HOME FUN FOR MAXIMUM RESULT.
