The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved FULL ACCREDITATION status for 34 Imo State University programmes.

The approval was contained in a letter from NUC, addressed to the Vice Chancellor of Imo State, dated 6th June 2024, with reference number NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/361, signed by Engr. Abraham Chundusu, The Acting Director of Accreditation, for Executive Secretary, reads in parts:- "In line with section 10(1) of the Education Act, CAP E3, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, the Commission organized the Accreditation of academic programmes at Imo State University, Owerri, in October/November 2023. The result of the exercise is as follows:"

6). Medical Laboratory Science - FULL

ASUU STRIKE: NUC Invites Pro-Chancellors, Chairmen of Councils and Vice-Chancellors of Federal Universities to a special interactive Meeting with Minister of Education on 6th September, 2022

IMSU NASU AND SSANU CALLS OFF STRIKE, IMSU ASUU STILL ON STRIKE.

The Non-academic Staff Union of Universities, (NASU) and Senior Staff Association Of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) chapter of imo state University (IMSU) has called off its 2 months strike and are to resume work likely 30th August 2022.

The unions said the suspension would be for two months to observe the implementation of the contents of the agreements reached with the government.

Following this development, these offices are expected to resume work.

1. Bursary.
2. exams and records.
3. Library.
4.Admission unit.
5. Imsu Ict.
6. Works department.
7. Registrars office.
8. Bookshop.
9. Imsu outreach consultancy services – OCS.
10. SIWES offices for I.T students who haven’t collected
their necessary materials to start up their industrial
training.
11. Faculty offices and departmental offices for non
academic staff (e.g office of various faculty officers, Deans, secretaries, HODs secretaries etc.
