The College offers a comprehensive and all-embracing curriculum for academic excellence and total development of its students. It promotes the THREE domains – Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor. At the cognitive level, three years of Junior Secondary education leads to the award of Basic Education Certificate. Another three years of Senior Secondary education leads to the award of West African School Certificate, awarded by West African Examination Council (WAEC) and Senior Secondary Certificate, awarded by National Examination Council (NECO).

The National Common Entrance Examination for admission into Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) of Federal Government Unity Colleges for 2015 will be held throughout the country and other interested foreign countries.

Only Final year pupils of Primary Schools are eligible for the exams.

THE Federal Government has finally announced the resumption date of all Nigeria primary and secondary schools, and the new date of resumption is: Monday, the 22nd of September, 2014 as new schools resumption date.

Please take note that the federal government had on the 26th of August, postponed the resumption of private and public primary as well as secondary schools in Nigeria to the 13th of October, 2014, as a precautionary step against the spread of the Ebola virus.

This information was made public by the minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, on Wednesday that schools resumption date might be moved back to September.

The Nigerian government has reviewed the resumption date for schools by three weeks.

So therefore, using this medium, we wish to inform and notify all private and public schools that they are to resume on the 22nd of September, not the 13th of October as earlier announced.

The October schedule was to curtail the spread of Ebola in Nigeria where six people have died of the virus.

The date was an extension of the initial plan for all primary and secondary schools to reopen new sessions on the second week of September after the long break.

This agreement was made and the previous date (13th October) was reviewed by the Federal government, after the proprietors of private schools had complained about the October date, and had urged the government to consider early resumption.

After an emergency meeting in Abuja on Friday, the Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, said all public and private schools in the country should resume on the 22nd of September.

Mr. Shekarau, the Minister of education in Nigeria, disclose that all the federal government colleges should strictly adhere to the new resumption date, and said measures put in place to curb the spread of Ebola are still intact by the federal government.

The federal minister of education also went on to add that any Ministry of Education in the 36 states of Nigeria who have not appointed desk officers on Ebola should do that before the resumption.

He added that the ministries should ensure that at least two staff in each school – both public and private — are trained by appropriate health workers on how to handle any suspected case of Ebola, should in case there’s one.

The minister also add that the workers should embark on immediate sensitization of teaching and non-teaching staff in schools on preventive measures.

The Minister of education, Mr. Shekarau also went on to ordered that the training must be concluded before schools resumes.

An Edo Man invited his friends forhis mother's burial. After loweringthe coffin, the family put yam, rice, meat etc, into the grave in line with tradition. An hausa man asked why? The Edo man smiled&said, ccording to our tradition, the dead go on a long journey & need all the food items they can get".
