Bells University of Technology was represented at the presentation of the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to His Royal Highness, Oba Alagbe Adio Maroof Arole Ogunmisi Alagbe I, the Elegushi of Egushi Ora Awori Kingdom.

The University delegation comprised the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abel Olajide Olorunnisola; the Bursar, Mr. Samuel Adebisi Adeyanju; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Arisa Ngozi; the Registrar, Lamidi S. Tafa; and the University Librarian, Dr. Felicia O. Yusuf.

The delegation joined other dignitaries, community leaders and well-wishers to witness this significant occasion, which marks an important milestone in the reign of His Royal Highness and celebrates the rich heritage, traditions and leadership of the Egushi Ora Awori Kingdom.

Bells University of Technology warmly congratulates His Royal Highness, Oba Alagbe Adio Maroof Arole Ogunmisi Alagbe I, and wishes him a peaceful, prosperous and impactful reign.

Bells University of Technology marked a significant moment in its history with the formal handing-over ceremony from the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, to the incoming Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abel Olajide Olorunnisola and from the outgoing Bursar, Mr. Sina O. Adepoju to the incoming Bursar, Mr. Samuel Adebisi Adeyanju.
The ceremony marked the conclusion of two distinguished periods of service and the beginning of a new chapter of leadership for the University.
As Bells University celebrates the contributions and legacies of the outgoing principal officers, the University also looks forward with optimism to the leadership, vision and possibilities that lie ahead.

A Journey of Celebration and Legacy

Every remarkable journey deserves a fitting celebration. The weeks leading up to the Sendforth of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, and the outgoing Bursar, Mr. Sina O. Adepoju, were marked by moments of celebration, appreciation, and reflection.
From the Independence Women's Day Programme to the courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi AbdulKabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota, the Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service, the courtesy visit to the Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom and the commissioning of landmark projects, each occasion reflected the impact of their years of dedicated leadership and service to Bells University of Technology.
Together, these moments celebrated not only the successful conclusion of two remarkable tenures but also a legacy of visionary leadership, innovation, excellence, and unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Jeremiah Oludele Ojediran, has conveyed warm felicitations to Professor Ojo Sunday Fayomi on behalf of Bells University of Technology, Ota's Management Team, Senate, and Governing Council. The congratulatory message celebrates Professor Fayomi's selection as the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Greenland University in Jalingo, Taraba State, effective 1 August 2026.

This milestone represents a profound source of honour for every member of the Bells University family. It powerfully underscores the exceptional standard of our teaching staff and the sustained distinction that characterises our establishment. Professor Fayomi's ascension to this trailblazing position goes beyond individual achievement β€” it vividly mirrors the scholarly rigour, administrative acumen, and institutional nurturing that Bells University steadfastly delivers.

Academic Background and an Illustrious Alumnus of Bells
Professor Ojo Sunday Fayomi is a distinguished alumnus of Bells University of Technology whose remarkable academic and professional journey reflects a steadfast commitment to excellence. He obtained a National Diploma with Distinction from The Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, a Higher National Diploma in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Bells University of Technology. He further earned both his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Metallurgical Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa, and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental and Natural Resource Management from Olabisi Onabanjo University.

Following his academic pursuits, Professor Fayomi returned to his alma mater and served with distinction in several strategic leadership roles, including Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of Academic Planning. In these capacities, he spearheaded transformative initiatives in curriculum development, quality assurance, programme accreditation, institutional planning, and global university rankings. As Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Unit and the Scopus Unit, he played a pivotal role in strengthening Bells University's research visibility, international reputation, and academic excellence. His visionary leadership and enduring contributions remain an integral part of the University's continued growth and success.

A Researcher of International Standing
Professor Fayomi's scholarly output encompasses upwards of 500 peer-reviewed articles, six academic monographs, and two registered inventions. His investigations have garnered in excess of 9,500 citations, yielding an h-index of 47. These accomplishments have secured him distinguished accolades, including placement among the World's Top 2% Scientists, the NRF South Africa C2 Established Researcher classification, and ranking among Africa's Top 50 Researchers. He has guided 25 doctoral candidates and 42 postgraduate students to successful completion, while additionally holding an Extraordinary Professorship and Senior Research Associate with Tshwane University of Technology and University of Johannesburg respectively.
