Technology and Education: Good or Bad?
Technology has transformed the way we live, communicate and work. But perhaps one of its most important impacts is on how our children learn.
From interactive learning platforms and artificial intelligence to virtual reality, digital classrooms and educational apps, technology is giving students access to learning experiences that were once unimaginable.
A student can explore the surface of Mars without leaving the classroom.
They can experience historical events through immersive simulations.
They can collaborate with learners across different parts of the world.
They can access information within seconds and develop digital skills that will be essential in the future workplace.
But there is another side to the conversation.
Is more technology automatically better education?
Not necessarily.
Technology can become a distraction when it is not used intentionally. Excessive screen time can affect attention and engagement. Easy access to information can sometimes discourage deeper thinking. And when technology replaces meaningful human interaction rather than enhancing it, we risk losing some of the most important elements of education—relationships, empathy, communication, creativity and character.
So, perhaps the question is not whether technology is good or bad.
The better question is:
How do we use technology to make education better without allowing it to replace the human qualities that make learning meaningful?
At Olashore International School, we believe the future of education requires balance.
Our students need to be technologically confident, but they must also be critical thinkers.
They need to understand artificial intelligence, but also understand responsibility and ethics.
They need digital skills, but they must also develop empathy, leadership and communication.
They need access to global knowledge, but they must have strong values that guide how they use that knowledge.
Technology should not simply make learning faster. It should make learning deeper, more engaging and more relevant.
The goal is not to raise a generation that knows how to use every new device or application.

Every parent wants to see their child succeed. We celebrate excellent grades, academic awards, and outstanding results, and rightly so. But there is a learning mistake many parents unknowingly make: focusing so much on the outcome that they forget to nurture the process.
Children need more than the ability to memorise information and pass examinations. They need to learn how to think critically, ask questions, solve problems, embrace challenges, and understand that mistakes are not failures, they are opportunities to learn and grow.
At Olashore International School, we believe true education goes beyond grades. We are committed to developing well-rounded young people with strong character, leadership skills, a global perspective, and values that will guide them for life.
Because the goal of education isn't simply to prepare a child for the next examination.
It is to prepare them for the world beyond the classroom.
Give your child an education that builds not just academic excellence, but character, confidence and purpose.
