Yesterday, the 26th of June, marks the official commencement of the annual Ifá Festival in Òṣogbo, Ọ̀ṣun State, Nigeria, under the revered spiritual leadership of Baba Àràbà Ifáyẹmí Ẹlẹ́buìbọ́n, alongside Baba Ifagbenusola Atanda Akọ́dá Awo, who traditionally leads the sacred procession on the authority of Baba Àràbà. Also present are the esteemed Ìwárẹ̀fà—our venerable spiritual chiefs and leaders—the dedicated lieutenants, and the entire Ẹgbẹ́ Ọ̀dọ́ Ìdìn-Ìlẹ̀kẹ̀.

His Royal Majesty, Kábíèsí Ọláònípẹ̀kun Oyètúnjí (Olárọ̀óyè II), Olóde Òṣogbo, Ẹ máa pẹ́ fún wa pẹ̀lú gbogbo àwọn Bàbá àti Ìyá wa...

The opening rite of the festival is known as ÌLAGBÓ, a sacred ceremony that signifies the ritual purification and spiritual cleansing of the revered Ifá Grove, as well as the symbolic renewal of the entire town. The consistent rainfall that blessed Òṣogbo in the days leading up to the festival is widely regarded as a divine manifestation of purity, peace, and abundant blessings, setting a befitting atmosphere for this prestigious annual celebration.

As this sacred festival unfolds, I extend my heartfelt wishes to all Bàbáláwos in Òṣogbo and its environs for a successful, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling celebration.

I seek you today Ifá with openness. Please read me thoroughly, read every single aspect of my life. Grant me those things you know are very essential to my living.

Master your own Odu!

Everyone was born with an Odu. Every situation, event or circumstance has an Odu. It is your birthmark, it is the spiritual and physical map of your existence in the universe.

No matter how talented, gifted or psychic anybody claims they are, ONLY IFA knows your Odu, Ori, and your Orisas.
ONLY IFA knows all and who sees all. No one and nothing else.

Ifa encourages us to seek out knowledge and wisdom, seek out different Babalawos/lyanifas, in different places till your Ori, your egbes, Orisa and Egun's lead you to the right person(s) in the right place.

The skills, knowledge and experience of babalawos will be different from one Yoruba town to the next, so expecting any Babalawo, lyanifa or Olorisa to be your saviour, you will be grossly disappointed.
Orunmila travelled to many Yoruba towns, met many other Babalawos and expanded his knowledge and experiences.
No Babalawo has any power over or in anyone's life.

Success is a journey and not a destination, if you do not come across it.
