As Chairperson of the Coalition of Sickle Cell NGOs, I am proud to share that our collective voice was represented at the maiden meeting of the Lagos State Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Technical Working Group (TWG).

What is a TWG?
Think of it as the “engine room” of public health. It’s where vision meets technical blueprints. By having the Coalition at this table, we ensure that sickle cell disease isn’t just an afterthought, it’s integrated into the broader

The Focus:
We commend the Lagos State Ministry of Health for an agenda that prioritizes:
✅ Addressing policy gaps in newborn screening.
✅ Strengthening ambulance and pre-hospital care.
✅ Enhancing early detection at the PHC level.

We aren’t just talking about change; we are helping design the systems that make it possible.
