OYEWO COMMENCES REHABILITATION OF SOLAR STREET LIGHTS IN OROLU LGA

The immediate past lawmaker representing Irepodun/Orolu/Olorunda/Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has commenced the rehabilitation and installation of solar-powered street lights across communities in Orolu Local Government Area of Osun State.

The project recently kicked off in Ifon-Orolu town, the council headquarters, and is designed to improve security, enhance road safety at night, and support commercial activities in the area.

Speaking to newsmen on the initiative, Hon. Oyewo said priority would be given to markets, schools, health centres, and major junctions that have been in darkness for a long time. The APC chieftain noted that solar-powered lights were adopted to ensure sustainability and provide uninterrupted illumination.

He urged residents to take ownership of the facilities and guard them against vandalism, adding that more communities would benefit in the coming weeks.

"As a member of the APC — a party that prioritizes the safety and welfare of the people — it is important that I contribute my quota to ensuring a safer Orolu LGA. I see this as a renewed call to service. Our party remains committed to putting the people first.

“This is about the safety and wellbeing of Orolu residents. We will continue to bring development closer to the grassroots,” Hon Oyewo said.

The intervention has been welcomed by residents, who described it as timely and people-oriented.

In a statement issued yesterday, Oyewo expressed confidence that the APC’s return to power in Osun would be defined by delivery, accountability, and a legacy of transformational leadership.

“I assure the people of Osun that from the governorship to the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the State House of Assembly, we will not fail you. You will not regret entrusting us with leadership. Our singular objective is the development of Osun, and we will work in concert to achieve it,” Oyewo stated.

He further noted that the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, is prepared to execute a robust and impactful development blueprint.

“Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will implement a results-driven development agenda. I therefore urge every citizen of Osun to align with us and translate this vision into reality by voting massively for the APC,” the former federal lawmaker said.

The APC chieftain emphasized that the gubernatorial flagbearer would prioritize youth development as a strategic pillar for sustainable growth.

“The youths are the engine room of our progress. It would be counterproductive for any responsible government to neglect them, as has been the case under the incumbent administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke,” he added.

Oyewo, who previously represented Osogbo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, called on residents to turn out in large numbers on Saturday, August 15 to vote for the APC and its governorship candidate.

As part of its campaign tour of the Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency, the APC Governorship Campaign Council on Friday, July 31, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola, Akinyooye III, the Olufon of Ifon-Osun.

The delegation, led by the APC Governorship Candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, _AMBO_, was warmly received by the monarch and the Council of Chiefs at the ancient palace of the Olufon.

Prominent APC leaders on the entourage included Engr. Kayode Adereti, Hon. Oluwole Oke, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, Senator Ajibola Basiru, Chief Mrs. T**i Laoye-Ponnle, Prince Dotun Babayemi, Amb. Isa Niniola, Hon. Wasiu Adebayo, and Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, a proud son of the kingdom.

During the engagement, Asiwaju Oyebamiji sought the monarch’s royal blessings and the support of the Ifon-Osun kingdom for the APC in the August 2026 governorship election.

He described the visit as evidence of the party’s commitment to engaging traditional institutions as custodians of culture and critical stakeholders in the democratic process.

The APC flagbearer pledged to address the infrastructural deficit in the ancient kingdom, stressing that the people of the territory deserve purposeful and responsive leadership.

The team thereafter proceeded to the campaign ground at Ifon Garage, where a mammoth crowd welcomed the APC governorship candidate.

Addressing the gathering, Oyebamiji charged the people of Orolu LGA to vote massively for the APC, assuring them that their support would be duly rewarded when he assumes office as Governor of Osun State.
