If you come across any of the terms below, here is what each one means:
1. Indebted
There's no need to worry. This simply indicates that your state or examination center has not yet settled some required fees with WAEC. It does not mean you owe WAEC personally. Once the outstanding payment is made, your result is expected to be released.
2. Outstanding
This means WAEC is still reviewing or processing certain aspects of your result. It could be because of script verification, incomplete processing, or other administrative reasons. In many cases, the result is released after the review is completed.
3. Withheld (Held)
A withheld result usually means WAEC is investigating suspected examination malpractice involving your subject or examination centre. Although some withheld results are eventually released, the chances are generally low.
4. Cancelled
This means WAEC has completed its investigation and confirmed examination malpractice. Once a result is cancelled, it will not be released.
