Do you ever wonder why there is a hole on the cover of Bic pen and the pen of other brands?

The hole is a safety measure.

It has been discovered that kids (and even some adults) absentmindedly chew on pen covers and can accidentally swallow the cover.

Once swallowed, the cover may lodged in the wind pipe and then choke them to death.

If a pen cover is accidentally swallowed, the hole on the cover helps to increase air flow and thereby give the victim the chance to breathe.

What's more, the hole on the cover of pens is a compulsory standard that all pen brands must keep.

It was Bic that first started putting a hole on pen covers, but when it was discovered that death by choking on pen cover reduced drastically because of the hole, the hole thingy became a safety standard that all pen brands must maintain.

WAYS TO TELL YOUR GIRL CHILD TO SIT WELL IN THE PUBLIC OR A CLASSROOM.

Don't ignore your daughter when she sits and widens her legs no matter her age.

Like some parents would say "She is still a small child". Don't forget that the little girl will still grow to become an adult. If she gets used to opening her legs anyhow when she grows up she will continue the same.

"You don't practice using your left hand in old age". You need to teach them how to sit properly when they are still tender.

Below are the practical ways to tell a girl child to sit properly.

1. When you observe that she is not sitting properly call her as if you want to send her on an errand when she comes to answer you, you can tell her to sit properly as she goes back to her seat.

2. As a teacher, if you observe that a child isn't sitting properly you can tell the whole class to stand up and then tell them to sit properly as they sit down. The girls should close their legs. By doing this, the person will correct herself immediately.

3. Always find time to teach them the benefits of sitting proper. Remember they are kids. They need constant teaching till they get used to sitting properly.

DON'T ALLOW A CHILD TO GO HOME DAILY BEING SAD.

As a teacher always make it part of you to make sure that every child leaves your class daily happy.

Before the school dismissal have a short interaction with your pupils or students before they go home. It creates this special bond between you and them.

Always make them see the classroom as their second home. By doing do, they will find learning fun and always eager to learn from you.

3 THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO OR SAY TO A CHILD WHEN TEACHING HIM OR HER.

Some times out of an*ger parents or teachers say or do things that will destroy a child instead of helping the child learn.
Most times, what you tell a child not to do is what he or she will do. It's ann*oying but you need to understand that that's their nature. Understanding the way children behave will help you nurture them well.

As a teacher or a parent, don't do the following even if you are extremely ang*ry.

1. Don't call a child bad names when trying to correct the child.

That a child misbehave is not a reason for you to call the child a use*less child, an id*iot and so on. Remember, there is power in spoken words.

2. Avoid flogging a girl child on her butt*ocks.
No matter how an*gry you are, never hit a girl child on her butt*ock because it may affect her reproductive organs.

3. Avoid hit*ting a child on the head.
It's very bad to hit a child on the head. Biologically, it affects the child mentally.

No matter how an*gry you are avoid these 3 things listed above. Instead, correct them in love. It doesn't mean that they shouldn't know that you aren't happy with their actions but correct them in love. Calling a child bad names isn't a guarantee that the child would change.

Children will always be children. Don't expect a child of 5 years to think or act like an adult of 20 years. It's not possible!

A child will always act like a child.

Honestly speaking, I do not think that saying "Thanks" and "Thank you", carry the same weight.

No, they don't.

In the same vein, I also do not think that when someone loses a loved one and you comment, "RIP", it carries the same weight as commenting, ""May she rest in peace".

To me, these things are not the same.

I would rather say, "Thank you" and "May she rest in peace".

And I would teach my kids not to say Thanks or write RIP in condolence messages.

HELP YOUR CHILD RECOGNIZE SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOUR.

Instead of scaring your child with the "stranger=Danger" approach, you would do better to teach them to recognize suspicious situations.
Teach your child the following adult behaviors.

📌Asking for help: "I need help finding my child. Please help me".

📌Offering treats: " Would you like some chocolate?" "I have a biscuit in my car. I follow me to collect one.

📌Feigning an emergency: " Hurry! Your brother was involved in an accident. I will take you to the hospital".

📌Flaunting authority: I think you're the kid who hurt my daughter. Come with me, and we will go find your parents".

📌Faking friendship with parents: "I am an old friend of your dad. He asked me to come over. Can you take me to your house?"
