GOD FORBID VS GOD FORBIDS?
This is a common grammatical error made by many Nigerians so let's exam the rule to decipher the answer. ✌
The rule of concord states: Singular subject, singular verb, except (You and I).
Since verbs in their natural state are plural, and since God is singular subject, it automatically attracts a singular verb (Forbids). Therefore,
God forbid. ❌
God forbids. ✔
God forbid bad things. ❌
