2 UNILORITES win pre-doctoral fellowship

Two students of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, University of Ilorin, Innocent Enahoro Ojiri and Sunmibola Oyetola Olaniyi, have been awarded the coveted Fellowship of the Centre for Effective Global Action (CEGA) in the United States of America after emerging successful among several applicants from Africa.

Mr Ojiri will undertake his training at Northwestern University while Olaniyi is due to undergo her programme at the University of California, Berkeley.

According to a covering document signed by the Supervisor of the two awardees at the University of Ilorin, Dr Khadijat Amolegbe, the predoctoral programme will include training seminars, coursework, conferences and curriculum design in socio-economic development.

Sad Reality 😢

We present to you, Engr Jacinta Chioma Ogbonna of the Department of Civil Engineering, who recently emerged as the best graduating female student of the University of Abuja. Ogbonna was also the overall best graduating student of the Faculty of Engineering.
For her outstanding performance, she was gifted the sum of One Million Naira.
Ogbonna has this to say, "I have always been passionate about structures, I wanted to be a cocreator, so engineering came naturally to me. Then, I knew that I had to show why I was in a field traditionally dominated by men. So I put in my best, worked very hard and prayed; and I am excited that in the end, I have a good story to tell."
