13th March, 2021was that day ADCHS celebrated her 40th anniversary, a day to behold and a memory that will ever linger.

A day where lofty height and greatness of purpose, dedication, commitment, cooperation and hardwork was attained with the collaboration and consultations of some great minds home and diaspora. I was privileged to be a part of them.

A very colourful day that unifies a 35 sets since inception of the school in the year 1980, I mean the sets between 1985 till 2019/2020.

A day where respect, loyalty, discipline, togetherness, dedication above all, love was shown without any form of disparity.

A day we all dine, winne, merry and fraternized with old and new, senior and junior colleagues with joy and harmony.

Congratulations to all

Happy anniversary!!!🥳

FUTURE TEARS (EKÚN ÒLA)

By: Prof. Oludare Ogunlana

Our boys whom we sent to the universities to study are now living in hotels doing "Yahoo", defrauding people.

They are not studying. They are "sorting". Bribing lecturers to pass.

They only come to campus in convoys once in a while to show off. Guess what?

Some lecturers are even worshipping them.

Our teenage sons are now driving Benz Cars in the university. They are now "happening guys" on campus.

The houses our sons in universities are living in now are flats and duplexes as against the self-contained that we used to know.

Well furnished and so beautiful like the home of some state governors.

Our sons are all married in the university but single at home.

Girls swarm around them... living with them, cooking for them, doing all sorts of things with them and for them.....

These girls are our daughters whom we sent to the universities to study.

They are in every club and hotel in town....they are found in front of exotic cars, fastening seatbelts, taking selfies, recording short videos and moving their tongues and lips like DOGS.

My recent research in Nigerian universities opened my eyes to this current ugly reality. I wept for the future.

These are teenagers, not even adults.
Guess what?

We still see them as children who know nothing.

I don't want to mention names of hotels in IBADAN, LAGOS, IJEBU-ODE, ABEOKUTA, AKURE, EKITI STATE, etc where you will see your sons and daughters. They have been living there for weeks if not months.

They are not going to school. "Who school help?" Don't you get it?

These teenagers— boys and girls are abusing drugs. Not just h**p (igbo) but co***ne, tramadols and other terrible ones.

I had once boarded a vehicle with a young girl in AGO-IWOYE who had some crack (co***ne) in her purse.

For a reason l did not know, the police officer that stopped us for a search didn't search her but searched every other passenger.

On the way, she brought out a drug, gently sniffed some and threw out the remaining through the window.

I looked at her and paused, she also paused; both of us paused. I remained deaf and dumb until I got to my destination.

Who will save this generation who painfully are our tomorrow and future of this country?

WE ARE SADLY KEEPING TOO QUIET!

EKÚN ÒLA!

May God Almighty beautify our characters and the characters of our children

*BENEFITS OF ASSOCIATION.*

I learnt a great lesson when I was watching former Ogun state governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel's eulogy of his late old mate friend, Prince Deji Soyebi a teacher, at the grave side.

According to Daniel, they were both friends at Baptist Boys High school Abeokuta.

Daniel got admitted to UNILAG while Prince Deji got to UI.

Despite that, their alma mata of Baptist high school still remained united through their old boys association meetings.

As a teacher, Prince Deji was at far distance to Daniel as governor.

Daniel as a governor was to appoint INEC RESIDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSIONER in Ogun state, he appointed his class mate, Deji.

According to Gbenga Daniel at the grave side of his late friend, he said Prince Deji broke down in tears & said, "how can a teacher be a friend of a governor & get an appointment"
Gbenga replied, old students association bounded our unity and togetherness.

*LESSONS LEARNT.*
1. No one can operate alone and succeed, you must be helped by someone. You too should help others.

2. Religion apart, you must associate with your community and any good association therein.

3. Don't look down on your situation, you can still be lifted, but be inspired to lift others.

4. Association with your alma mata matters. There, you can keep on with your best of friends. In any position you are, "every body counts".

COPIED.

ADCHS @ 40, the celebration of excellence and achievements.
The epoch event has come and gone ,but our ' BONDS' remains.
On behalf of the chairman Central Planning Committee , Alh. Hakeem Shokunbi and the Acting President of ADCHSOSA ,Mr Ganiyu Olowu , l want to sincerely appreciate the doggedness and contributions of all the committee and subcommittee members in various capacities in making the event a huge success.
It all began in late 2019 when l move the issue at the National Forum ( Platform) on 40th Anniversary of our Alma Mater against 2020, in which the school was established in 1980 on the green plain of Oke Aro.
The event couldn't come up in 2020 as envisaged due to the issue of Pandemic , Covid -19 and EndSars palaver that crippled all activities in our dear Nation and at global stage. After series of meetings , deliberations , February 13th ,2021 was fixed ,while eventually the great day ,March 13th, 2021 was scheduled for adequate preparation.
We must commend the efforts of the committee having gone through a lots of challenges, series of meetings were held both online and physical in collaborations with our Alumni in diaspora, which yielded a good result, part of it is the registration and official opening of bank account of the old students Association, these has really trigger a lot of progress ahead of the event.
Going by the lined up events, the novelty match was a good omen signaling success ahead. The Juma'ah service was observed where special prayers was offered.
The main event on Saturday was a glorious day to be remembered amidst of our special guests, former teachers, seniors , juniors and colleagues, while the Alumni members in the diaspora were connected through live streaming, it was indeed a great event as the groundbreaking , foundation laying of the school library was done.
On Sunday, 14th of March ,2021, the event was concluded with Thanksgiving at African Church , St.Paul's Parish, Agbado ,with songs of praise and prayers.
We are like a formidable team, we've built a strong network through the 40th Anniversary, let s the spirit of oneness continues, we are moving to a greater height.
Finally ,let me appreciate the followings: Hon. Sheu Wahab, Alh. Kobiti Abdullahi, Hon. Olajide Amusan, Supo Nike Akinsanya, Mr. Niyi Bakare, Mr. Ekinne Gbenga, Engr. Otepola Sunday, Mr. Isqeel Ayetolu, Mr. Seye Akisanya, Mr. Ekinne Titilayo, Mr Kelly Agbor .These committee members really did a great job, it also included : Mr . Nelly Samuel, Mrs Tytler Elizabeth, Mrs Solate Deborah , Mrs Onajobi Safiat and others.
In the diaspora : Dr. Philip, Prof. Segun Fatumo, Mr Nurudeen Badmus and others.
We 've all make an impacts to the huge success of the 40th Anniversary of our great Alma Mater.
Thanks to you all ,and God bless .
