The speech delivered by the proprietor
AN ADDRESS DELIVERED BY THE PROPRIETOR OF ALAWIYE NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL, OKEAGBE AKOKO ON THE OCCASION OF HER 11TH YEARS/GRADUATION CEREMONY HELD TODAY 27TH JULY, 2019 AT THE SCHOOL PREMISES.
Credit goes to God Almighty for making today a reality in the lives of everybody witnessing today’s ceremony, making the end of 2018/2019 academic session.
I equally want to thanks our parent well wishers, pupils for deeming it fit to attend today’s show. God in his infinite mercy will make abundant provision for the needs of each and everyone of you. I equally wish to congratulate the graduating pupils in respect of whom this graduation activities in being packaged, stakeholders, teachers, parent etc. are all appreciated.
Graduation activity is a sign of continuity of a school, it is a testimonial to the progress of the student and that was why parent, pupils see it as step forward in their lifelong activities while the pupils expects that they graduate at the end of their academic programs, the parent, and the community at large expects that the child is well groomed and prepared for a greater tomorrow after leaving the school through sound education.
Discipline:
The school places a lot of emphasis on discipline. It is our belief that discipline is an antenna that beams good manner in pupils therefore, mental, social, moral and other form of academic disciplines are enhanced through the combined effort of the teacher and management of the school. We equally advise the parent to accord the discipline of their children a high priority as it will go a long way to ensure their success in later life.
Challenges:
I sometime felt disappointed and wondered when unplanned and unsatisfied scene took place, hmm… glory be to God Almighty. With the hard time yet we still survive. Let me tell you today that there are some that can be avoided if there are commitments and cooperation from the parents and the school management.
Among the challenges facing are:
1. Government multiple taxes: I never say I’m not paying taxes, but the government should be considerate in their tax assessment.
2. Nonchalant attitude toward payment of school fees: I use to wonder when a pupils in sent home to go and collect his/her school fee, his/her parent will tell such child that ‘I don’t have money’. Let me ask you present here ‘is that the right statement to the child?’ or are you not aware that school fee is not free?
3. Debt: I believed you all know what I meant by debt?
Achievement:
Glory be to God Almighty for the achievements made so far. By the grace of God, our first graduated pupils will write their WAEC next year and very many of them are performing very well in their various current schools.
Also, among the contemporary school within, our school is among the leading schools.
Prospect:
Within the limited resources at our disposal, we hope to give a holistic and world standard education to your pupils since we belief it is the only way to actually bring out the best in our people. We are using this medium to appeal to well meaning and influential sons and daughters of our community to rally round the school to provide facilities and materials that will help to upgrade the lives of our children.
Secondly, we aspire to have our permanent site and have approval from the government so that our name will be on the certificate issued to our pupils in the nearest future.
God bless you all.
Happy Celebration
