By analysing Chimamandaโs Half of a Yellow Sun, Teju Coleโs Every Day is for the Thief, and Omar el Akkadโs What Strange Paradise; Onyeashie James demonstrates how these texts theorize the necropolitical logics governing postcolonial existence. The author argues that โthese novels perform a crucial dual labour of witness and theory for understanding post-conflict reconstruction, security governance, and developmental policy. They are, first, meticulous archivists of embodied experience, preserving the sensory, psychological, and social truth of life within systems that harmโ.

As Nigeria intensifies its offensive against insurgent groups, this article traces the development of artificial intelligence in the country and argues for its systematic integration into national security operations. The paper argues that the limited adoption of AI across key sectors, particularly defence and the broader economy, has constrained the countryโs ability to respond effectively to the multi-modal security threats it faces. What does the lack of integrated AI mean to the efforts of Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police Force and other agencies?
