When we try to live our lives according to impulses inspired by pride and our egos, we are simply setting ourselves up for failure. There is no good that can ever come from thinking that we know better than God. When we try to rush for opportunities that we are not ready for, we simply end up setting ourselves up for embarrassment.
When people are not used to delayed gratification, they believe that they deserve to get whatever they want whenever they want it. This is not a wise way to live. When this happens, we ignore God's instructions and we choose to follow our own way instead because we believe that it is far better than the path that God has planned out for us. But this is the truth: we cannot do anything significantly meaningful without God. If we try to live our lives on our own terms it means that we are turning our backs on God.
Humility means that we acknowledge God's leadership over our lives and how we are nothing without it. Humility acknowledges that on our own, we are not the superbeings we think we are. If we were, we would not have needed God to save us from ourselves.

Do God's Word With Passion

Anyone who loves God will have a passion for his word. This is very good but we must continue to be as eager to do his word as we are eager to hear. If we don't put words into action, they can't do us any good. It's like when we eat a human drum.
James 1:22
But you should be the doer of the word, and not just a listener, so that you do not deceive yourselves.
We have to be wise in our relationship with God. If a person does not take the word of God into action, such a person may think that the word of God does not work or is not able to change people's lives, but what happens is that such a person does not do what will show the power of the word of God in his life.
Matthew 7:24
Therefore whoever hears these words of mine and does them, I will compare him to a wise man, who built his house on rock:
There is nothing wrong in being a hearer of the word of God because we cannot be a doer of the word if we do not hear it first. So what the Bible is telling us is that we have not yet reached the crossroads where the impact of God's word in people's lives is revealed if we only hear the word.
Romans 2:13
Because not the hearers of the law are justified by God, but the doers of the law will be justified.

When you start seeing how valuable God created you to be, you'll start finding it harder to hang around people who don't!

I pray God is bringing supernatural, divine deliverance to that difficult, impossible situation- in the name of Jesus... Trust Him!
