Admission into Undergraduate Degree Programme for the 2017/2018 Session in Western Delta University, Oghara is still on.
Intending candidates must be those that have taken the 2017 JAMB CBT examination and have obtained the prescribed National Minimum Cut-off Score.
Candidates who did not initially choose Western Delta University, Oghara as their first or second choice can also apply.

Chief James Onanefe Ibori Visits Western Delta University, Oghara

Western Delta University, Oghara made the news again on Thursday 25th May 2017 on the occasion of the solidarity visit of His Excellency, Chief. James Onanefe Ibori. His Excellency, who is the facilitator of the University, was received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. O.C. Okobiah, the Registrar, Mr. G.O. Egbri and other members of the University’s management team.
In her welcome speech, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Okobiah, a onetime Provost of the Faculty of Law, Oleh Campus of Delta State University, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration at the Delta State University, Abraka, thanked His Excellency for finding time out of his crowded schedule to visit the University. Prof. Mrs. O.C. Okobiah in an elated mood expressed her joy and gratitude to the Almighty God for bringing his Excellency back to Nigeria safely.
In his response, the facilitator of the University, Chief James Onanefe Ibori thanked the Management and all members of Staff for their commitment, dedication and resilience to duty while he was away. Chief James Ibori pointed out that the University’s days of moving to take its place amongst its peers globally are here. His Excellency pledged his commitment to seeing through the University’s vision of standing out tall globally.
High point of the occasion was the presentation of souvenir by the University to His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, the Odidigborigbo of Africa.
Recall that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. O.C. Okobiah assumed office as Vice-Chancellor of Western Delta University, Oghara on 1st July 2016 when the former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Austin Ovigue Asagba threw in the towel.
Since her assumption of office, Prof. Mrs. O.C.Okobiah has been working tirelessly to sanitize the University and re-position it in readiness for the actualization of its vision of becoming a globally first rated University that would produce graduates that can stand tall amongst their peers from any part of the world and conduct researches that would impact positively and meaningfully on mankind.
Western Delta University, Oghara was born in 2002 by a group of academics and investors in the knowledge industry, later known as the Urhobo Advancement Foundation, who took advantage of the liberalization of the Nigerian Higher Education Sector through private ownership of a University.
The University commenced academic activities with two colleges in March 2008 after a license was granted by the Federal Government in May 2007.

Post-UTME Screening.
Western Delta University, Oghara has cancelled its Post-UTME screening exercise for the 2016/2017 session. This is in compliance with the directive by the Nigerian minister of education.
Consequently, all intending candidates for admission who wrote and scored above 180 in the 2016 UTME examination are qualified for admission by Western Delta University, Oghara.
Candidates are however to note that admission is on a first come first admit basis.

Beware of these fake Universities!!!

The National Universities Commission has released a list of illegal degree awarding institutions operating in Nigeria. The schools were published in the NUC’s weekly bulletin dated August 24.

According to the bulletin, the NUC Executive secretary, Julius Okojie, warned that those who patronise the schools, do so at their own risk. “Certificates obtained from these sources will not be recognized for the purpose of NYSC, employment and further studies,” the NUC said.
