2021 MAY/JUNE CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS: RESCHEDULING OF EXAMINATIONS SUBJECTS FOR MONDAY 14TH JUNE, 2021
This is to inform you that ALL PAPERS SCHEDULED TO HOLD ON MONDAY 14TH JUNE, 2021, namely: Chemistry (Paper 1 - Objective & Essay - 005-1) and Literature in English (Paper 1 - Objective & Prose - 007-1) HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY 26TH JUNE, 2021.
This development is as a result of the PUBLIC HOLIDAY declared by the Federal Government to mark Democracy Day.
JAMB has disclosed that it may conduct a second 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for candidates with genuine registration challenges. The JAMB boss, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede disclosed this while monitoring the profiling of candidates with 2021 UTME registration challenges.
According to him, about 17, 758 candidates with challenges had been profiled, nationwide.
JAMB considers conduct of a 2nd UTME for 2021 candidates with registration issues
“At the end of the entire exercise, we may have to conduct another examination for those with genuine cases after the main UTME slated for June 19 to July 3.” He said.
He noted that going by his interaction with some of the candidates with registration challenges, most of them are largely unserious and are basically the cause of most of their challenges.
REQUEST FOR DETAILS OF CANDIDATES OF THE 2021 MAY/JUNE NBC/NTC EXAMINATIONS WHOSE DATE OF JAMB UTME CLASH WITH THEIR NABTEB EXAMINATIONS
It has been observed that the dates for the 2021 JAMB UTME, scheduled to commence on June 19th, 2021, will clash with the dates for the NABTEB In-School NBC/NTC Examinations which will hold from Monday, 14th June to July, 2021 nationwide. In view of the anticipated problem, the Registrar/Chief Executive has directed that all candidates whose UTME examination dates coincide with their NBC/NTC examinations, and who want their UTME dates to be rescheduled, should forward their details immediately to NABTEB Headquarters for possible rescheduling by JAMB.
All principals and proprietors of schools are enjoined to compile names of the affected students with the following details:
1. Name of Candidate
2. Name of School
3. Location
4. Name of JAMB UTME examination centre
5. Date originally Scheduled for the UTME
The submission is expected to reach the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer for onward transmission to JAMB on Monday, 14th June or a day after JAMB has released names of examination centres to candidates.
Please treat as extremely urgent.
The need for a high JAMB score in your quest for admission to a higher institution in Nigeria cannot be overemphasized. Every candidate wants to have a high JAMB score as that will help boost admission chances, but many never get to achieve that. The question is, what strategies can one employ to achieve this goal?
1. EARLY PREPARATION:
Strategies To Succeed In 2021 JAMB UTME
Don’t wait for the exams to be close before you start preparations. Early preparation gives you an edge; don’t think that there is still time.
Live your life with a sense of urgency. Have the mentality, ” I am behind schedule”. Begin to set targets because it will give you a powerful drive towards the exam.
Do you want to score 350+ in Jamb? It all begins now. Remember, a man who fails to plan is indirectly planning to fail. In your quest for university admission, what can you see?.
3. DEVELOP A STUDY HABIT:
Your habits determine your habitat. It is high time you develop a solid study habit. Need help? here is how to start. Before you study, make sure that you are relaxed physically, emotionally and mentally. The following study practices might be of good help to you.
Study in an environment that is best conducive for you. It doesn’t really need to be calm; if a noisy area is OK for you, go with it.
Read with revelation. Draw a plan of what you should achieve after the study.
All materials that guarantee smooth learning must be ready to avoid searching in the midst of learning.
Get a Jotter to put down salient facts.
Don’t skip any part of the material if you don’t understand it.
Prepare a study time-table and follow it consecutively.
Prepare a rest and recreation time-table too. Funny?
4. USE PAST QUESTIONS:
Past questions are the picture of the future. The future here speaks of the exam you are preparing for. Studying with past questions will act as a positive catalyst for your exam. The importance of past questions is they help you to:
Know the nature of questions to expect.
Identify the dark spots in your textbooks
Take note of the frequently asked questions.
Examine your level of preparation by putting yourself in the exam condition.
Boosts your confidence.
Note: Most past questions pack have answers at the back. Do not check the answers before you solve the problems. Just make sure that you understand the questions.
Following the extension of the registration deadline for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Direct Entry (DE) applications, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that it will no longer extend the closing date for candidates registering for the exams.
This was contained in its Weekly Bulletin, published by the office of the registrar on Monday in Abuja. According to JAMB, despite the two-week date extension, there are still complaints of candidates’ inability to register for the examination.
JAMB: No extension of registration deadline, way forward for unsuccesful applicants
The complaints included lateness or non-delivery of the National Identity Number (NIN) verification code; inability to obtain NIN; mismatch or wrong names originally submitted to National Identity Management Commission ( NIMC).
The board said while few of the complaints have been found to be genuine, a large number were traceable to fraudsters whom it alleged, were hell-bent on manipulating the system. JAMB said, however, that it will give another opportunity to those who have genuinely tried to register but failed, due to some of the challenges mentioned.
All prospective candidates with genuine proof(s) of failed efforts to register before the closing date have been advised to visit any of JAMB’s offices for reconciliation between Monday, May 31, and June 15, including JAMB-owned Professional Test Centres across the country.
- Candidates are expected to obtain and complete a form, at no cost.
- Submit, for the Reading Test and the Application, a certified Bank Draft of N4,000 only in favour of JAMB and obtain a signed duplicate copy from the office.
- They will also submit the completed form with a recent passport photograph at the same office of collection and collect a copy of the Reading Test.
- Candidates are to wait for further directives through the registered phone number and Public Service Announcement through the NTA Network News as soon as the screening is completed.
The CLOSING DATE for the registration of NABTEB 2021 May/June Certificate Examinations is 30th of May, 2021. There will be no further extension.
JAMB has made huge changes to the 2021 UTME calendar by shifting the dates of UTME, mock and registration deadline by 2 weeks. The 2021 UTME, which was initially expected to begin as from 5th June, 2021 has now been moved to begin from 19th June, 2021 and will run until 3rd July, 2021.
In a similar fashion, the registration deadline has been moved to 29th May, 2021. This is a 2 weeks shift from the initial deadline.
JAMB shifts 2021 registration deadline, dates for UTME and Mock by 2 weeks
Again, the JAMB mock exam for 2021 which was earlier slated for 20th May, will now hold on 3rd June.
The JAMB registrar explained that these changes had become relevant and unavoidable due to the challenges experienced during registration, which saw over 600,000 candidates left out of the process
The National Business and Technical Examination Board has released the results for the 2020 Ordinary and Advanced level with 25,844 candidates scoring five credits and above with or without English Language and mathematics out of the 32,541 that sat for the exam.
At the announcement in Benin, Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe, also said that 21,175 candidates obtained five credits above including English Language and mathematics.
She also said that 250 candidates who sat for the examination were found to be involved in malpractices, noting that the examination body will continue to make more effort by stepping up examination personnel and use of technology to further check examination fraud.
