GLOBAL/AFRICAN EDUCATIONAL PLATFORMS POST COVID-19
Having looked at the challenges of Digital Natives and Digital Immigrants we can notice that there is a gap already created by the generational difference. Digital Immigrant still hold the old belief of “this is what we have been doing over the years and you must do it the same way” while Digital Natives that they are in the “Internet age” and as such e-learning/Remote learning/Virtual Learning and EdTech motivate them to learn better/understand better with high level of academic performance as the dividend.
This scenario has indeed altered the lecture delivery pattern whereby Schools and University are imbibing virtual learning to ensure that lecture delivery is done in the most modern way- with the aid of Digital mechanisms.
In December 2019, there broke out coronavirus pandemic, coded COVID-19, which greatly restructured the fortunes of the whole world, occasioning lockdown and total lockdown among the continents and nations of the earth. COVID-19 drastically and negatively changed the face of everything including the educational sector including hundreds of thousands of deaths. The lockdown brought all the facets of the economy to a standstill, (including the educational sector) not only in the African continent but also globally!
