IVTEC HOLDS 2026 STAFF CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL LITERACY, PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND PRODUCTIVITY
The International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase-Ipo, organised a two-day Staff Capacity Building and Productivity Workshop themed "Advancing Digital Literacy, Professional Ethics and Excellent Workplace Productivity," reaffirming its commitment to staff development and institutional excellence.
Declaring the workshop open, the Acting Registrar and Host, Ms. Eniola Oriire, emphasized the need for continuous capacity building to enable staff to adapt to evolving workplace demands, enhance digital competence, and improve service delivery across the College.
Delivering the keynote address, the Registrar of the College of Education Oro, Dr. Amuda- Kannike Abdulkareem, commended the Management and staff of IVTEC for the warm reception accorded him and applauded the Acting Registrar for organizing a timely and impactful workshop.
He described the Public Service Rules as the foundation for regulating the conduct, rights, duties, privileges and obligations of public servants, stressing that "Rules are made to shape our actions. If we do not regulate our actions, we will not be able to regulate our daily activities." He added that discipline remains essential for maintaining acceptable standards of behaviour and promoting accountability in the workplace.
Dr. Kannike further highlighted digital literacy as an indispensable skill in today's technology-driven environment and urged staff to embrace digital innovation while upholding integrity, professionalism, teamwork and ethical conduct as indispensable values for institutional growth and excellent service delivery. He encouraged participants to regard capacity building as a continuous professional responsibility and to translate the knowledge gained into improved performance and productivity.
The workshop also featured a presentation by the Head of the Internal Audit Unit of IVTEC, Mr. Ismail Aremu, on the Concept of Professional Ethics, Values and Attitudes. He explained that professional ethics provide the moral compass for distinguishing between right and wrong, stressing that ethical values, discipline and positive attitudes are fundamental to accountability, professionalism and effective public service. He charged participants to uphold the highest ethical standards in the discharge of their duties in order to sustain public confidence and institutional credibility.
The workshop features interactive sessions and practical engagements designed to strengthen staff competence, promote workplace excellence and position the College to meet the
demands of the digital age.
