AN EXPIRED CREDENTIAL IS NOT AN ACTIVE CREDENTIAL.
Professionals working in Applied Behaviour Analysis need to take credential expiration seriously.
Once a professional credential expires, you should not continue presenting yourself as currently credentialed until the required renewal or reinstatement process has been completed and active status confirmed.
For parents, this is important too. Before choosing a professional to work with your child, ask:
• Is your credential currently active?
• When does it expire?
• Who issued it?
• Can I verify your current status?
Parents have the right to ask questions about the qualifications of anyone providing services to their child.
Professional integrity means being honest about your qualifications, your current status, and the limits of your professional authority.
Do not assume. Verify.
Protect your professional standing. Protect the children you serve.
