Today, we officially launched the AI For Everything Data Fellowship — September cohort.

A new group of fellows joined us, and we kicked things off with a group photo to mark the beginning of this journey. Over the coming weeks, they'll be learning, building, and leveraging AI to solve real problems — and we'll be right here documenting the journey with them.

Community Spotlight 5: Okudo Maduabuchukwu Anthony 🌟

Every edition of Nnewi Tech Meetup adds another face to our growing community — and today, we're spotlighting one of them.

Okudo Maduabuchukwu Anthony found out about the meetup through a friend, and 4 editions later (1, 3, 4, and 5), he's still showing up.

What keeps him coming back? "I like to be in places where innovators and creatives are," Anthony told us. For him, Nnewi Tech Meetup has consistently been that place — a space where "there's always value and something new to learn."

That value hasn't just stayed in the room. Anthony credits the exposure from these meetups with helping him solve real problems using new tech ideas, and increasing his productivity along the way. "Exposure brings ideas," he says — and it's clear he's put that into practice.

His current focus spans web development and AI automation, with AI automation standing out as the skill he's most drawn to right now.

But when we asked what makes each edition memorable, his answer went beyond skills or ideas — it's the people. "Truly, it's the people I get to see and network with at each edition," he shared.

That's what community is built on — showing up, learning, connecting, and coming back for more.

Say hi to a few of our Ai For Everything fellows 👋🤖

Meet some of the 20 individuals who make up our first cohort — different backgrounds, different skills, but all here with one shared vision: learning to use Ai to build, create, and solve real problems.

Not everyone made it on camera this time (we'll catch them next round!), but the energy in the room said it all. 🔥

This fellowship is just getting started, and there's so much more to come. Official public launch is this Saturday at Meetup Edition 6.0 — where we'll formally welcome this cohort to the world. 👀

AI For Everything: Learning to Build With AI, Not Just Talk About It. 🤖🚀

Day 2, and the ideas are already flowing.

Another day of collaborative learning, brainstorming, and turning ideas into something tangible — this time going deeper into the prototype we're building as a team.

As part of the AI For Everything Data Training Fellowship, we're learning how to leverage AI more effectively in our everyday work — not just prompts, but understanding how AI can turn simple ideas into solutions for real-world problems.

From creatives working with images and video, to developers, data analysts, cybersecurity professionals, product managers, social media managers, and businesses — the goal is the same: explore how AI becomes part of how we work, create, analyse, solve problems, and build.

We're not just asking, "Will AI take our jobs?"

We're learning to ask a more useful question: "How can I use AI to become better at what I do?"

That's exactly what we're exploring — learning, experimenting, brainstorming, building.

The prototype we're working on is only the beginning. 👀

Community Spotlight 04: Meet Mmesoma 🌟

Sometimes a friend's WhatsApp status is all it takes to change your trajectory — that's how it started for Udeaja Mmesoma Lilian.

She first heard about Nnewi Tech Meetup that way, and it was a genuine quest to know more that pulled her in. Four editions later (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th), she keeps showing up because the teachings actually resonate — every time she applies what she learns, she sees results almost instantly.

The impact has gone beyond just attending. It's helped her build her portfolio, especially through social media, and she credits the teachings for the global recognition her venture, De Vibes Ventures, is now getting. It's also exposed her to new opportunities, information, and collaborations she wouldn't have found otherwise. Along the way, she's sharpened her listening, teamwork, and networking skills — and describes the whole experience as reshaping her vision of life, from something small into something much bigger. Right now, she's exploring social media management and virtual assistance.

Her favorite part of the meetups? The Q&A sessions, the snacks, and meeting new people. 😊

Community Spotlight 03: Meet Mary 🌟

Sometimes, all it takes is curiosity to change your path — that's exactly how it started for Mole Ngozichukwu Mary Nicolette.

She first heard about Nnewi Tech Meetup through WhatsApp, and it was simple curiosity about tech that drew her in the first time. Three meetups later (Editions 2, 3, and 4), she keeps coming back — especially for the practical, hands-on sessions.

For Mary, attending hasn't just been about learning — it's helped her build real skills, understand how to position herself in the tech space, and stay updated on what's happening in the digital world. She's sharpened her graphic design and branding abilities along the way, and she's now exploring motion design, product design, and management.

Her most memorable moment from the meetups? The practical sessions — where ideas turn into something you can actually do.
