ANAOCHA STUDENTS, UNIZIK CHAPTER, LAY LATE MISS OBIANOZIE CHIOMA TO REST AT AKWAEZE

Members of the Anaocha Students Union, University of Nnamdi Azikiwe (UNIZIK) Chapter — Igwe Anaocha N'Unizik — on [insert date], gathered at Akwaeze community to pay their last respects to their late member, Miss Obianozie Chioma, as she was laid to rest.

The burial ceremony was led by the Igwe Anaocha N'Unizik Chapter, Comr. Elobe Chibunna Emmanuel, alongside other executive members and students of Anaocha extraction studying at the institution. The occasion drew members from across the Union who turned out in solidarity to identify with the bereaved family and to honour the memory of their departed colleague.

Speaking during the event, the Igwe, Comr. Elobe Chibunna Emmanuel, described the late Miss Obianozie Chioma as a dedicated and well-loved member of the Union, whose absence would be deeply felt by her colleagues and the entire student body. He called on members to continue to uphold the spirit of unity and brotherhood that she represented while urging the family to take solace in God during this period of grief.

The Anaocha Students Union, UNIZIK Chapter, on behalf of all its members, extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the late Miss Obianozie Chioma, and prays that her gentle soul rests in perfect peace.

ANAOCHA LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNVEILS NEW PHASE OF SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAMME

The National Union of Anaocha Students (NUAS) wishes to inform members and the general public that the Anaocha Local Government Area has announced a fresh phase of its Skill Acquisition Programme, with registration commencing on 6th August at the Local Government Podium. The initiative forms part of the Greater Anaocha Vision, aimed at moulding young people into self-sufficient and productive citizens through practical, marketable trades that can lead to genuine financial independence and, in turn, job creation for others within the community.

This renewed effort builds on the success recorded in May 2025, when over 500 Anaocha youths completed vocational training and were supported to launch their own enterprises. The programme equally aligns with Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo's 1Youth-2Skills initiative, which has continued to reshape opportunities for young people across Anambra State. At the grassroots level, three Skill Acquisition Centres have been established in Agulu, Neni, and Akwaeze, with the Agulu centre already functional, the Neni centre completed and awaiting commissioning, and the Akwaeze centre nearing completion.

NUAS therefore urges all interested Anaocha students and youths to take advantage of this opportunity by registering for the programme, as part of the collective effort to raise a generation of skilled and economically empowered young people.

NUAS IGBARIAM CHAPTER HOLDS SUCCESSFUL GENERAL MEETING, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STUDENTS' WELFARE

The Igbariam Chapter of the National Union of Anaocha Students (NUAS) held its General Meeting on Saturday, 19th July, 2026, bringing together members of the chapter in a gathering marked by unity, robust deliberation, and a shared commitment to the welfare of students.

The meeting, which recorded impressive attendance, provided a platform for members to review the activities of the chapter and to deliberate extensively on matters affecting the welfare of students both within the Igbariam Chapter and across the larger NUAS community. Discussions centred on strengthening welfare structures, fostering closer ties among members, and reinforcing the union's core mandate of protecting and promoting the interests of Anaocha students wherever they may be.

Speaking on the outcome of the gathering, the chapter's leadership described the meeting as highly successful, noting that the level of engagement and unanimity displayed by members reflected the renewed vigour and cohesion within the chapter. Members were also encouraged to remain steadfast in their commitment to the ideals of NUAS and to continue supporting initiatives geared towards the wellbeing of students.

The National Union of Anaocha Students commends the Igbariam Chapter for successfully hosting the meeting and reaffirms its unwavering dedication to the welfare and progress of students from Anaocha Local Government Area, both at home and in their various institutions.
