Did you know the talking drum can actually speak?

The Talking Drum is one of West Africa’s most fascinating instruments. By squeezing the strings on the side while playing, the drummer can change the pitch of the drum.

This allows the drum to imitate the tones of spoken language, almost like it’s having a conversation.

In the past, talking drums were used to send messages across villages, celebrate important events, and tell stories.

Today, our students at Bright Minds Academy are learning this powerful tradition and connecting with their roots.
