Thank you Lord!

JESUS PAID FOR SINS ONCE AND FOR ALL
“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” Heb. 10:12,14
This is one of the most important scriptures that believers must understand in connection to our salvation. Through the sacrifice of Himself, Christ paid for our sins ONCE and for ALL. He is not going to repeat that, He’s done with everything that has to do with sin and what sin brought. The curse has been broken once and for all! He’s the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. He paid Satan with His death, and that ended the dominion of sins in the lives of those that have received salvation in Christ. That legal transaction is over. Because of this, you have right to receive forgiveness of sins, so He put forgiveness of sins in the package of redemption. Eph. 1:7. From the stand point of Christ sacrifice, everything regarding salvation has been eternally secured and provided. But, the story doesn’t end there, salvation has to be received by faith! People have died and gone to hell for over 2000years that Jesus rose from the dead. The sacrifice of Christ is of no value to you and if you reject Him to be your Lord and Saviour. Salvation has to be received for it to be vitally ours.
Can Salvation be lost? Lots of honest believers are confused about this. People fight the doctrine of eternal security because they don’t understand it, but the answer to that question is YES! Doctrine of eternal security addresses God’s part of the deal not man’s part. It means you are eternally saved in Christ. Salvation is eternally secured by Christ. God doesn’t save people to dump them a little later, He saves to the uttermost (eternally)! But, that it is eternally provided doesn’t mean your right to make choices have been eroded with salvation. Salvation doesn’t turn you to a robot! You can walk away from Christ if you choose to. God doesn’t force anything on you even after salvation. This aspect of truth must be understood. You can walk away from salvation and thus, lose it, die and go to hell.
“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:20-22
This scripture shows that people can still walk away from God after they have received salvation. We escaped the pollutions of the world through Salvation in Christ! To ”turn away from the holy commandment” is to walk away from salvation in Christ. The phrase, “The dog turned to its own vomit again; and the sow (pig) that was WASHED to her wallowing in the mire” implies that born again people can walk away from Christ, and thus no longer have salvation in Christ!
“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” Heb 6:4-6
This clearly shows that a born again man can lose his salvation by choosing to walk away from Christ. The phrase “If they shall fall away..” means they can fall away, and their falling away is an act of their will. What does “fall away” mean? It means to fall from salvation, and thus, lose your salvation. This guy here is enlightened, he has tasted the heavenly gift (Christ), made partakers of the Holy Spirit (filled with the Holy Ghost) and have tasted the good word of God. This person described here is born again and Spirit filled, yet, he can lose his salvation if he chooses to walk away from Christ. It will take an act of the will for believers to remain in the faith or fall away. Yes, in God’s plan, once saved should be always saved, and eternally saved, but your will is required in your Christian walk. God didn’t provide a temporary salvation, He provided eternal salvation, but men have a choice to remain saved eternally or walk away from it. Hebrews Chapter 6:4-6 & Chapter 10:26-29 would not be written if men once saved cannot lose their salvation no matter the choices they make. That is not scripturally sound, it’s a one sided understanding, and that perverts the truth about salvation. We should not lose sight to the truth that man’s will is his free gift, and his greatest gift from God. He can even use it against God. He can use it to choose Satan over God, and God will respect that choice.
Yes, God, through Christ, provided eternal salvation, but you have to receive that by faith, and wilfully commit yourself to it. You can lose anything that you choose to lose because you are a free moral agent.
Let me be clear here, believers in Christ have inherent spiritual power to overcome sinful acts, we don’t have to be vulnerable to sin. Sin kills! We should NOT practice sin, but rather, practice righteousness. We are the righteousness of God in Christ. Righteousness is in our nature! Scripture admonishes us to wake up to righteousness and sin not. We cannot be living in sin and be spiritually effective, sin and righteousness don’t work together.

I am a New creation! Hallelujah!
