AKUM Principal Officers Receive Brand-New Official Vehicles from Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago
The Executive Governor of Niger State, Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, has donated official vehicles to the Principal officers of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna as part of his administration's continued commitment to strengthening higher education in the state.
Presenting the vehicles at the Niger State Liaison Office in Abuja, Governor Bago said the gesture was aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the University's management and reaffirmed his commitment to improving staff welfare and positioning AKUM among Nigeria's leading universities.
Speaking on behalf of the University, the Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, expressed profound appreciation to the Governor for his unwavering support, noting that his investments in the institution have significantly enhanced its growth, visibility, and appeal to prospective students.

AKUM 300-Level Biology Students Embark on Educational Field Trip to Maizube Farms
300-level Biology students of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna embarked on an educational field trip to Maizube Farms.
During the visit, the students toured key sections of the farm, including the administrative block, cattle sheds, milking parlour, feed centre, greenhouse, dam, and orchard. They received practical lectures on the operations of these facilities, with special emphasis on greenhouse and orchard management. The students were also introduced to various plant and tree species and learned modern cultivation and maintenance techniques.
The field trip was coordinated by Dr. Yakubu Mambe Mohammed and Dr. Ibrahim Tabako, providing the students with valuable hands-on experience that complements their classroom learning.

Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna (AKUM), has launched its Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Farm as part of its commitment to sustainable agriculture, innovation, and skills development.
The initiative is designed to produce affordable, high-quality insect protein for poultry feed, helping to reduce feed costs and support more affordable poultry production. Beyond production, the farm serves as a practical training hub where students acquire hands-on skills in BSF farming, entrepreneurship, and sustainable agribusiness.
The project demonstrates AKUM's commitment to producing graduates equipped with practical skills alongside academic qualifications, empowering them to become self-reliant while contributing to food security and economic development.
