MUTA Education Scholarship Announcement
for 2022-2023 Academic Year

The MUTA Education and Cultural Committee is pleased to announce a call for applications for the 2022 MUTA
Education Scholarship Awards. The awards are based on merit and are intended for full-time undergraduate students
who are enrolled in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs, Medicine and allied
medical professions.
Eligibility
1. Be enrolled in an undergraduate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), medicine or any
allied medical field.
2. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (equivalent to second class
upper degree) or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Supporting documents:
In addition to the application form, applicants must submit a 2-page, double spaced personal statement explaining
why they are deserving of this award. Appropriate justification may include academic history, accomplishments,
community service, career goals and financial needs.
The Committee also requires the following items:
1. A declaration that the candidate does not and shall not belong to or participate in any cult or related
organizations activities on or off campus.
2. Certificate of State or Local Government origin.
3. A signed letter from the institution’s Academic Officer or the appropriate Head of Department certifying the candidate's CGPA

Number of scholarship:
One qualified recipient will be selected from each of the 14 Tiv-speaking LGAs in Benue State
and one each from Taraba and Nasarawa states.

Award Amount: #50,000.00 per recipient

Award winners will be notified by email. Additionally,
Scholarship recipients will be announced on Radio Benue and posted online at www.muta.org by June 5, 2022. The
Committee encourages all applicants to check online for the status of their application on this site.
Awards will bepresented at an award ceremony sometime in July or August 2022. The exact date will be announced once
arrangements are concluded.

Applicants for the NNPC/CNL JV scholarship are ineligible to apply for any other scholarship program sponsored by CNL, its joint venture partner, or any of its affiliates, including the Agbami Medical & Engineering Professional scholarship (AMEPS) program.

Applicants and successful candidates are not required to make any payments whatsoever. Application for Chevron scholarship program is free.
