DAY 13 — MATHEMATICS · Area & Perimeter
Four formulas cover almost every mensuration question they set.
Q: Find the area of a triangle with base 12 cm and height 9 cm.
A. 21 cm² B. 54 cm² C. 108 cm² D. 216 cm²
ANS: B — 54 cm²
Area = ½ × 12 × 9 = 54 cm².
WORKING
A = ½ × base × height
A = ½ × 12 × 9
A = 54 cm²
TIP: If they give you the DIAMETER, halve it before you use πr². That is the most common trap.
Your turn: Find the area of a circle of radius 14 cm. Take π as 22/7.
