Learners Too Charge as School Promised Greater Investment in Learning

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Ashi Heights Schools Makurdi held her Career Day, an event filled with impactful career orientation sessions aimed at guiding students towards their future ambitions. The occasion, designed to shed light on career paths, empowered learners with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions regarding their academic and professional pursuits. The day’s activities underscored the importance of early guidance, addressing the common challenges faced by many when choosing courses in higher education due to lack of information.

Following a series of orientation sessions, the students took the lead in presenting the essence of Career Day, having grasped the significance of career planning and its role in personal development. The impressive performances highlighted not only their understanding of the concept but also their readiness to embrace the challenges of future career paths. The learners' initiative in organizing and leading presentations was a testament to the effective preparation they received, as they engaged their peers with insightful discussions.

The school's Director, Hon. Terwase Aondoakaa expressed his admiration for the students' performances and commended the staff for their dedicated effort. He pledged to allocate additional resources to enhance the students' learning experiences and to provide a more conducive environment for both teaching and learning. His commitment reflects the institution’s vision to equip students with the tools necessary for excellence in academics and beyond.

*EMBRACING CULTURAL DIVERSITY OF TRIBES IN EDUCATION*

Ashi Heights Schools celebrates Cultural Week as all tribes will be represented in the rich displays, exhibition & learning.
The Cultural Week is dedicated to teaching learners & students & the community the importance of understanding diverse cultural ways & lifestyles. It breeds a better understanding & appreciation of values. Everyone stands to gain deeper insights into various cultures through active participation in cultural outings. In school, this is ensured by engagement with cultural experts during organised school assembly & the involvement in extra-curricular activities during break-time. A plan has already been mapped to create a balance between academic learning & cultural experience in Ashi Heights Schools this week.
On Monday 10th June 2024, it was the turn of Idoma as everyone blazed all through in rich red & black.
On Tuesday 11th June 2024, the Ibos were celebrated as the School came out in the red, gold, white & black.
On Thursday 13th June 2024, it will be the turn of the Igedes as everyone will celebrate.
Friday 14th June 2024 will be the Grand Finale where everyone will come out in his/her rich cultural attires.

We strongly believe in the educational theory that : "I hear, I forget. I see, I remember. I do, I understand." This principle underlines the school's commitment to engaging in both academic and extracurricular activities. Learners & students have a better grasp at understanding and retention of knowledge.

On Friday 14th June 2024, Ashi Heights Schools Makurdi plans to have an exhibition of cultural activities which will surely show the splendour of our tribes. There will be dances. There will be fashion parades.
There will be historical facts.
There will be drama presentation.
There will be a Master & Miss Culture parade.
There will be many other activities.

Ashi Heights Schools celebrates the rich cultural heritage of our tribes. Grand Finale on Friday 14th June 2024.
