Final Quiz Competition Organized by the Education Secretary of MMC

The Education Secretary of MMC, Associate Prof. Umar Goni, successfully organized the Final Quiz and Debate Competition for both Primary and Junior Secondary School categories across MMC LEA. The grand event was held on November 19, 2025, with schools from various wards in attendance.

Goodwill Messages

The Board Chairman expressed gratitude for the invitation and commended the Education Secretary for sustaining academic competitions, emphasizing that such activities are essential parts of the learning process and help build confidence among learners.

Professor Bulama Kagu Representing Honourable Commissioner of Education formally declared the competition open. He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Borno State Government toward strengthening the education sector.

Mal. Aliyu Yahaya, speaking on behalf of NGOs, announced ongoing plans to establish Peace Clubs in public schools, aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and positive behaviour among learners.

The representative of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, applauded the Education Secretary’s dedication to promoting educational excellence and strengthening supervision in schools.

The representative of the Commissioner of Women Affairs pledged continuous support towards girl-child education, emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to ensuring inclusiveness.

The representative of His Royal Highness of Borno offered prayers of blessing to the pupils and appreciated the Education Secretary’s relentless efforts in reviving cultural values and upholding quality education across MMC schools.

Awards and Recognitions

The Chairman of MMC generously awarded ₦50,000 each to the 1st and 2nd positions in all categories, and ₦200,000 was shared among the remaining contestants as encouragement for their participation and hard work.

The NUT Chairman also provided transportation tokens to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners to support and motivate the pupils and students.
