Yesterday, 15th April 2026

The Mafa LGA Students Association Central Body (MASA) visited Mafa town today ahead of the commencement of the 2026 JAMB examination scheduled to begin tomorrow, 16th April 2026. The Association convened an emergency orientation meeting for all 2026 JAMB candidates in Mafa town and provided emergency rapid response contact lines to guide the students and help them avoid any mistakes.

The meeting aimed to educate, guide, and encourage the students in order to boost their morale ahead of the examination. MASA shared key tips and strategies, advised the students to arrive at their examination centres as early as possible, and urged those scheduled for early morning papers to leave Mafa town a day before their exam. The Association gave students the opportunity to ask questions on any unclear issues, and MASA Central Body satisfactorily addressed all questions raised. The Association commended the Mafa LGA Digital Literacy Learning Center team for their cooperation and support, and expressed profound appreciation for their role in training Mafa town JAMB candidates.

After returning to Maiduguri, MASA Central Body immediately proceeded to WALCA Academy of Information Technology at Kofa Biyu, where not less than 100 students are undergoing JAMB training sponsored by Prof. Shettima Bulama Mustapha, DVC Central Administration, Kashim Ibrahim University. The Association extended similar guidance and encouragement, asked the students to outline any topics they did not understand, and addressed all questions asked. MASA also commended the WALCA team for their dedication in training Mafa LGA JAMB candidates.

Prayers were offered for Mafa LGA and for all 2026 JAMB candidates from the LGA to secure excellent scores in the examination.

5 April 2026

The Mafa Students Association Central Body (MASA) held a general meeting today, April 5, 2026. The meeting brought together current and former local chapter leaders, and students from various institutions, including University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Ramat Polytechnic, College of Health, College of Nursing Science, and Mohamet Lawan College of Agriculture respectively.

The meeting focused on Mafa LGA students, youth development, and overall growth of Mafa LGA. MASA highlighted its achievements and vowed to continue making progress. The association advised local chapters to submit two names each for the constitution review/amendment process, enabling MASA to reform and adopt its constitution again.

Former local chapters leaders, and current leaders, MASA Central Body executives and all MASA Central Body's members attended gave their maximum cooperations and highlighted their views, offering words of encouragement and advice, pledging cooperation to drive MASA forward, they equally agreed to summit two names from all functioning and registered local chapters ahead of MASA Central Body's process of it's constitution review/amendment committee. The association advice all local chapters leaders that they should forward their list best on track record and very deep consultation as the constitution review committee.

Prayers were said for Mafa LGA students, youth, stakeholders, and Mafa LGA in general.

Mafa Students Association Central Body (MASA) revisited the Muna Vocational Training Center to coordinate the distribution of starter packs to newly graduating students of Mafa LGA. The aim was to ensure Mafa LGA applicants are treated fairly and honored like other LGAs. The association played a crucial role in drawing the attention of the LGA council and stakeholders.

The LGA council assigned Vice Chairman Modu Bulama to oversee the process, which he did diligently, spending the night at the training center to ensure all Mafa LGA applicants were cleared before leaving at midnight.

MASA Central Body thanked the LGA council under the leadership of Hon. Alh. Saleh Bukar and all the LGA stakeholders, especially Vice Chairman Modu Bulama and SSA to His Excellency, Hon. Shettima Lawan Maina, for their efforts. We appreciate their prompt response and handling of the situation, showing they have the youth of Mafa LGA at heart. We encourage them to continue prioritizing the needs of Mafa LGA youth.

PRESS RELEASE

Earlier today, February 26, 2026, Mafa Students Association Central Body (MASA) immediately rushed to Ramat Polytechnic ICT Centre to facilitate the registration of 124 students approved by the Executive Chairman of Mafa LGA, Hon. Alh. Saleh Bukar, for this year's JAMB.

The association worked diligently to register the students before the closing deadline, slated for midnight today. MASA Central Body thanked Hon. Alh. Saleh Bukar for the sponsorship and assured him that the association will continue to support education.

MASA Central Body appreciated the Executive Chairman's vision for education and his commitment to empowering Mafa LGA students. May Allah bless him abundantly.

Mafa Students Association Central Body (MASA) visited Mafatown for the successful screening of 200 students for this year's JAMB targeted by the association, including an additional 53 SS 3 Mafatown students sponsored by Prof. Shettima Bulama Mustapha.

The association hosted Mafatown SS 3 students and all the students that H.E Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum sponsored for an extra lesson at the Digital Literacy Center, Mafa LGA.

MASA Central Body expressed its readiness to support them in whatever condition and assured them that the association, in collaboration with its LGA stakeholders, will register all those willing to further their education for this year's JAMB/D.E.

MASA Central Body stated that it is committed to supporting, guiding, and encouraging students to further their education. We want to see a lot of Engineers, Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Agriculturists, Accountants, Economists, and both military and paramilitary officers in Mafa LGA in the coming generation. This can't be achieved without guiding and encouraging you, said MASA Central Body President, Umar Abdullahi.

The association targeted 200 students for this year's JAMB and an additional 50 Direct Entry (D.E) to encourage diploma holders to further their education. MASA Central Body assured to facilitate and secure admission for all those who score the required cut off mark for 2026 UTME and will also follow up to secure admission for the Direct Entry.

MASA Central Body thanked Prof. Shettima Bulama Mustapha for sponsoring 122 Mafa LGA indigenous students for this year's JAMB, stating that this is the first of its kind for a single person to sponsor 122 students from his personal pocket. The association called on the LGA council and all Mafa LGA stakeholders to contribute to sponsor students for this year's JAMB.
