Watch as the Chairman of Confluence International Academy admonishes student representatives of the school who participated in the Stella Heart mental health and drug abuse awareness program after which he presented them with a certificate of attendance from the Stella Heart Foundation.

The event was held on the 6th of June 2026 at the Auditorium, Adankolo Campus, Federal University, Lokoja.

It was an enlightening and interactive experience, one that encouraged reflection, learning, and awareness.

At Confluence International Academy, we remain committed to raising not just academically excellent students, but young people who are informed, confident, and equipped for life.

Nigeria’s democratic journey has been shaped by both struggle and progress. After gaining independence from the British in in 1960, the country practiced democracy but soon experienced military rule following the 1966 coup.

Though civilian rule returned briefly in 1979, another military takeover in 1983 delayed democratic progress. A defining moment came on June 12, 1993, when a widely accepted free and fair election—believed to have been won by —was annulled, strengthening the people’s demand for democracy.

Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999 under Olusegun Obasanjo and has remained so ever since. Today, June 12 honors the sacrifices made for freedom and reminds us that democracy thrives through justice, accountability, and active citizenship.
