KOGI POLY ACADEMIC BOARD EXONERATES THREE STUDENTS, EXPELS THREE FOR THEFT, EXAMINATION MISCONDUCT

- WITHDRAWS 168 OTHERS OVER POOR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

The Academic Board of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has considered the report of the Central Examination Misconduct Committee and approved the exoneration of three students accused of examination misconduct.

This was part of the far-reaching decisions at the 8th Emergency Board meeting held on Thursday, 14th July, 2022 at the Hall 'A' of the main campus.

The three students exonerated are Balogun Afeez Tolani (2019/ND/BUS/603), John Timothy (2019/HND/BUS/603) both of the Department of Business Administration and Johnson Lydia Odunayo (2018/ND/PAD/848) of the Department of Public Administration.

Consequently, the Board directed that the suspended results of the three exonerated students be processed immediately and forwarded for express approval.

Meanwhile, the Academic Board has also approved the expulsion of one Yakubu Gowon Zuleihat (2021/ND/PAD/346) of the Department of Public Adminstration over a case of theft.

The duo of Monday Alfa (2019/ND/EE/126) and Omodi Ubile (2019/ND/MEC/063) both of School of Engineering, were also expelled for impersonation during examinations.

In another development, the Board also approved the withdrawal of 168 students from the Polytechnic over poor academic performance in the First Semester of 2021/2022 academic session.

This was approved at the Academic Board's meeting held on Thursday 28th July, 2022 at the same venue.

The Chairman of the Academic Board and Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has admonished students to be law-abiding as they resume for the second semester of 2021/2022 Academic Session, promising that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring absolute compliance with the law and order in and around the campuses of the Polytechnic.

REGISTRATION FOR POST-UTME SCREENING FOR THE 2022/2023

This is to inform candidates who choose Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 100 in the examination that registration for the Post UTME Screening for the 2022/2023 admission commences on 30th July, 2022, and closes on 20th August, 2022.
Eligible applicants are to visit www.kogistatepolytechnic.edu.ng and click on “Apply Now” or http://portal.kogistatepolytechnic.edu.ng and access the online application forms after payment of non-refundable registration fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only. Account details and procedure for application are on the website.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Candidates who choose Kogi State Polytechnic as 2nd or 3rd choice Institution and have met the minimum score of 100 are required to change to First Choice on the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) PORTAL to be eligible for the screening.
Candidates who are awaiting O’level result(s) and are eligible can also apply for the screening, but should indicate appropriately.
Eligible candidates are required to provide functional Phone Number(s) and E-Mail address as the modalities for the screening will be communicated through SMS using the phone number(s) and or e-mail address provided.

Application forms for admission into the Kogi State Polytechnic’s regular Programmes for the 2022/2023 Academic Session are now on sale. The Polytechnic offers the following courses:-
1. SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCES
Higher National diploma in:
a. Computer Science
b. Statistics
c. Microbiology
d. Science Laboratory Technology(Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Environmental Biology)
1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. Higher National Diploma in Computer Science (Two Years)
Candidates must possess National Diploma in Computer Science and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics and Physics are compulsory at credit level. A credit in any other Science subject and Social Science subject is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial training or a pass in ND result with two (2) year compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
b. Higher National Diploma in Statistics (Two Years)
Candidates must possess National Diploma in Statistics and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language and Mathematics with any other three Science or Social Science subjects is required. In addition, candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year compulsory industrial training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: TO ALL MARRIED PREGNANT AND NURSING PROSPECTIVE FEMALE CORPS MEMBERS

NOTE THIS WHEN CALL UP LETTER IS OUT..

It's self explanatory..

All married pregnant and nursing mothers not deployed to their respective husbands' places of domicile can now proceed to the NYSC Orientation Camps within their spouses' States of residence for Orientation course.

However, they are to present for registration, in addition to other relevant documents:

1, Evidence of marriage.
2, Identity of husband.
3, Evidence of husband's place of domicile.

Kindly note that the National Youth Service Corps cherishes and strongly upholds the institution of marriage. Accordingly, all concerned are requested to take note of this new policy.
