I used to play the violin. 😊

Many people don't know that about me.

While I was in the university, there was an indefinite lecturers' strike just before our exams. At first, we all thought it would end in a few days. But days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months.

Instead of waiting endlessly, I decided to learn something new. That was when I learned to play the violin.

Many of my classmates also picked up valuable skills like tailoring, hairdressing, and other crafts. Sadly, some people spent the entire period doing nothing because they believed there would always be more time.

That experience taught me a lesson I have never forgotten: time doesn't wait. The best time to start learning is now.

As parents, it's perfectly fine to let children rest during the holidays. They deserve it. But don't let their minds go on holiday too. A few weeks of meaningful learning can make a remarkable difference when school resumes.

Tomorrow, my Summer English and Creative Classes begin. It's a wonderful way to keep children learning while they enjoy their holiday.

Send a DM to get started.

The 11+ exam is getting closer, and if your child will be writing it this year, these are the seven things you should be focusing on right now.

1. Stop worrying about learning everything. Focus on understanding the topics they still struggle with.

2. Let them practise with timed questions. Knowing the answer is good, but finishing on time is just as important.

3. Don't just mark their work and move on. Go over every mistake together. That's where real improvement happens.

4. Encourage them to read every day. A good reader is often a stronger thinker, writer, and problem solver.

5. Help them build their vocabulary. Learning a few new words each day can make a big difference.

6. Give them a chance to write full mock exams. It helps them feel more confident and less nervous when the real exam comes.

7. Please don't forget to let them rest.
A child who is well rested and calm will always perform better than one who is exhausted and stressed.

As a teacher, I've seen children improve so much in just a few weeks, not because they studied all day, but because they studied the right way.

These final weeks matter. With the right support and consistent practice, your child can walk into that exam feeling ready.
