Children’s Day is a special occasion set aside to celebrate the joy, innocence, and future of every child. Children are precious gifts from God and the leaders of tomorrow. As we celebrate this memorable day, we pray that every child will grow in wisdom, knowledge, good health, and peace.
However, this year’s celebration is filled with mixed feelings because many children are still in captivity and away from their families and schools. While other children are celebrating happily with their parents, some families are living in pain and fear because their children have been abducted.
We therefore appeal to our government and security agencies to do everything possible to rescue these innocent children and reunite them safely with their parents. Every child deserves love, protection, education, and freedom. The cries and prayers of the affected parents should not be ignored.
May Almighty God protect all children, comfort the grieving families, strengthen the security officers, and grant the safe return of every child in captivity. Happy Children’s Day to all our wonderful children.

Training a child to be dependable starts with building responsibility, honesty, and consistency in little daily activities. Here are practical ways parents and teachers can help:
1. Give Small Responsibilities
Assign simple tasks such as arranging books, washing plates, sweeping, or caring for school materials. This teaches accountability.
2. Teach Them to Keep Promises
Encourage the child to do what they say they will do. Praise them when they complete tasks faithfully.
3. Be a Good Example
Children learn by watching adults. When parents and teachers are punctual, honest, and responsible, children copy those habits.
4. Create Daily Routines
Regular routines for reading, chores, prayer, homework, and sleep help children become organized and reliable.
5. Encourage Honesty
Teach the child to tell the truth even when they make mistakes. A dependable child is trustworthy.
6. Praise Responsible Behaviour
Appreciate efforts like completing homework on time or helping others. Positive encouragement motivates children.
7. Teach Time Management
Help them understand the importance of doing things at the right time and avoiding laziness or procrastination.
8. Allow Them to Face Consequences
If they fail to complete a task, let them learn from the result instead of always rescuing them.
9. Build Confidence
Encourage the child with kind words so they believe they can handle responsibilities well.
10. Teach Care for Others
Dependable children learn to help family members, classmates, and friends willingly.
A dependable child grows into a trustworthy and responsible adult when guided with patience, discipline, love, and good examples.

Why Some Children Don’t Listen to their parents and what to do
1. They Want Attention
Sometimes children misbehave because they want attention — even negative attention.
What to do:
Praise good behavior
Give attention when they behave well
Avoid shouting too much (it can encourage more bad behavior)
Example:
"Thank you for sitting quietly" 👍
---
2. Instructions Are Too Long
Children (especially younger ones) forget long instructions.
What to do:
Give short and clear instructions
Say one thing at a time
Example:
Instead of:
"Go inside, remove your shoes, wash your hands, bring your book"
Say:
"Go inside and remove your shoes first."
---
3. They Are Testing Boundaries
Children naturally test limits to see what they can get away with.
What to do:
Be consistent
Don’t change rules every time
Follow through with consequences
Example:
If you say "No TV before homework" — stick to it.
---
4. They Are Tired, Hungry, or Stressed
When children are tired or hungry, they become more difficult.
What to do:
Ensure enough sleep
Give meals on time
Reduce too much pressure
---
5. Too Much Shouting at Home or School
When children hear shouting all the time, they stop responding.
What to do:
Speak calmly but firmly
Get their attention before speaking
Maintain eye contact
Example:
Call their name first:
"David, look at me… Please sit down."
---
What Works Best With Children
✔ Be calm but firm
✔ Be consistent
✔ Praise good behavior
✔ Give simple instructions
✔ Set clear rules
✔ Show love and patience

Raising brilliant children does not only mean making them good at school. It means helping them grow to be smart, confident, creative, and responsible. Here are some simple ways you can do it:
1. Encourage Reading 📚
Give children books from a young age.
Let them read stories, picture books, and educational books.
Reading improves vocabulary and thinking ability.
2. Ask Them Questions
Ask questions like: Why do you think this happened? or How can we solve this?
This helps children learn to think and reason.
3. Praise Effort, Not Only Results 👏
Instead of saying “You are very smart,” say “You worked very hard.”
This teaches children to keep trying even when work is difficult.
4. Provide a Good Learning Environment
Give them a quiet place to study.
Reduce distractions like too much TV or phone time.
5. Teach Discipline and Good Habits
Set time for homework, play, and sleep.
Discipline helps children stay focused.
6. Encourage Curiosity 🔍
Let them ask questions.
Take them to places where they can learn (library, museum, nature walks).
7. Teach Life Skills
Teach them responsibility like cleaning, organizing their books, and helping at home.
Responsible children usually do better in life.
8. Be a Good Example
Children learn by watching adults.
If they see you reading, learning, and behaving well, they will copy you.
9. Support Their Talents 🎨⚽
Some children are good in math, music, art, sports, or science.
Help them develop their special talents.
10. Show Love and Encouragement ❤️
Children perform better when they feel loved and supported.
✅ Remember: Every child is different. A brilliant child is one who uses their mind well, behaves well, and keeps learning.

Parents Should Stop Excessive Criticism of Their Children
Criticism, when too much or too harsh, can damage a child’s confidence. Children grow better with encouragement than with constant fault-finding.
When parents always say:
“You are not good enough.”
“See how others are better than you.”
“You always fail.”
It makes the child feel:
Unloved
Afraid to try
Ashamed of themselves
Instead of constant criticism, parents should:
1. Correct with love – Explain the mistake calmly.
2. Praise effort, not just success – “You tried your best, well done.”
3. Guide, don’t insult – Separate the mistake from the child.
4. Encourage growth – Every child develops at their own pace.
Remember:
A corrected child may improve, but an encouraged child will flourish.
Children blossom where they are celebrated, not where they are condemned.

🌱 Topic: “Partnering to Help Our Children Grow – School and Home Together”
🎤 What to Talk about
1️⃣ Every Child Is a Seed
Some grow fast.
Some grow slowly.
But all need care, patience, and encouragement.
As teachers, we water the seed in school through learning.
Parents nurture the seed at home through love and discipline.
---
2️⃣ Growth Is Not Only Academic
Children don’t grow by books alone. They grow in:
Character
Confidence
Respect
Responsibility
Remind parents that good grades without good character is incomplete growth.
---
3️⃣ Consistency Between Home and School
Children get confused when:
School teaches discipline
Home allows indiscipline
parents should support school rules and values.
4️⃣ Words Build or Break a Child
parents:
Avoid comparing children.
Avoid negative labels like “dull,” “stubborn,” or “useless.”
Speak life and encouragement.
A child becomes what they constantly hear.
---
💡 Advice to Parents
You can say:
1. Spend quality time with your children.
Even 20–30 minutes daily makes a difference.
2. Check their books and homework.
It shows you care.
3. Control screen time.
Monitor what they watch and who they follow.
4. Teach respect at home.
School cannot do it alone.
5. Pray for your children.
Spiritual covering is important for total growth.
“When teachers and parents work together, children do not just pass exams — they succeed in life.”

All children are not dull because every child is created with unique abilities, talents, and intelligence. Children only learn at different speeds and in different ways.
1. Children Have Different Types of Intelligence
According to Howard Gardner, intelligence is not just about book work. Some children are:
Good in Mathematics
Good in Languages
Creative in Art
Talented in Music
Skilled in Sports
Good at leadership or communication
A child who is weak in one area may be excellent in another.
2. Children Learn at Different Speeds
Some children understand quickly. Others need more time and practice. Taking longer to understand does not mean they are dull — it just means their learning pace is different.
3. Environment Affects Performance
A child may struggle because of:
Lack of encouragement
Poor teaching method
Family challenges
Health issues
When given proper support, such children often improve greatly.
4. Confidence Matters
When a child is constantly told “you are dull,” they may start believing it. But when encouraged, they perform better.
5. Every Child Has Potential
Just like seeds grow at different times, children also develop at different stages. With patience, guidance, and motivation, they can shine.
---
Simple Conclusion:
No child is dull. Every child is intelligent in their own way — they only need the right support, teaching style, and encouragement to succeed. 🌟
