🌙 HOW DHUL-HIJJAH REVIVES A BELIEVER’S HEART 🌙
Sometimes the heart becomes tired…
Tired from sins…
Tired from distractions…
Tired from worldly struggles…
Tired from distance from Allah.
A believer may pray, fast, smile before people, yet deep inside, the soul longs for peace, mercy, and closeness to its Creator.
Then Allah, out of His mercy, brings special seasons that awaken the heart again.
Among the greatest of these seasons are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
These blessed days are not only days of worship — they are days of spiritual revival.
They remind the believer that no matter how far one has gone, the door of Allah remains open.
When the believer hears the takbir:
“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah…”
…the heart begins to soften again.
When he fasts on the Day of Arafah hoping for forgiveness…
When she raises her hands in sincere du‘a…
When tears fall during Qur’an recitation…
When charity is given secretly for Allah’s sake…
…the soul begins to live again.
Dhul-Hijjah revives the heart because it reconnects the servant to what truly matters:
Allah.
The Hereafter.
Forgiveness.
Mercy.
Submission.
Hope.
These days remind us of the beautiful story of Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام — a man who submitted completely to Allah with sincerity, patience, sacrifice, and trust.
His story teaches us that true peace is found in obedience to Allah, even when life becomes difficult.
Many hearts today are filled with anxiety, sadness, emptiness, and endless worries because they are overwhelmed by dunya.
But Dhul-Hijjah comes as a reminder that real happiness is not in wealth, fame, or worldly enjoyment.
Real happiness is in closeness to Allah.
Perhaps one sincere repentance in these days may erase years of sins.
Perhaps one du‘a may change your destiny.
Perhaps one act of charity may become your light on the Day of Judgment.
Do not let these blessed days pass like ordinary days.
Pray more.
Remember Allah more.
Read the Qur’an more.
Repent sincerely.
Forgive others.
Help people.
Cry to Allah in private.
Because sometimes the heart does not need more dunya…
It only needs more Allah.
May Allah revive our hearts with faith, fill our souls with tranquility, forgive our sins, and make us among those who benefit from the blessings of Dhul-Hijjah.........Ameen 🤲

🌙 THE FIRST 10 DAYS OF DHUL-HIJJAH 🌙
The Best Days of the Entire Year
All praise belongs to Allah who gives His servants special seasons of mercy, forgiveness, and multiplied rewards. Among the greatest of these blessed seasons are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah — days loved by Allah and honored in Islam.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
«“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)»
This shows the greatness and importance of these blessed days. They are better than all other days of the year for worship, obedience, and good deeds.
✨ Why Are These Days Special?
These ten days combine the greatest acts of worship in Islam:
- Prayer
- Fasting
- Charity
- Dhikr (remembrance of Allah)
- Hajj
- Qur’an recitation
- Sacrifice (Udhiyah)
Allah even swore by these days in the Qur’an when He said:
«“By the dawn, and by the ten nights.”
(Surah Al-Fajr)»
Many scholars explained that these “ten nights” refer to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
🌿 Recommended Deeds During These Days
✅ Increase your prayers and voluntary acts of worship.
✅ Read and reflect on the Qur’an daily.
✅ Frequently say:
- SubhanAllah
- Alhamdulillah
- La ilaha illa Allah
- Allahu Akbar
✅ Fast as many days as possible, especially the Day of Arafah.
The Prophet ﷺ said regarding the fast of Arafah:
«“It expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.”
(Sahih Muslim)»
✅ Give charity, even if it is little.
✅ Seek forgiveness sincerely and repent from sins.
✅ Maintain family ties and help those in need.
⚠️ Avoid Sins During These Days
These are sacred and blessed days, so a believer should stay away from:
- Backbiting
- Lying
- Gossip
- Oppression
- Watching or listening to haram things
- Neglecting prayers
A sin during sacred times is more dangerous, just as good deeds during sacred times are more rewarding.
🐑 About the Eid Sacrifice (Udhiyah)
For those who can afford it, sacrificing an animal during Eid al-Adha is a highly rewarded Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Do not let love of wealth prevent you from earning Allah’s pleasure. Whatever is spent for Allah’s sake will never be wasted.
✂️ Important Reminder for Those Offering Sacrifice
If you intend to slaughter an animal for Eid, then from the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah:
- Do not cut your hair
- Do not cut your nails
until after the sacrifice is done.
This is based on the instruction of the Prophet ﷺ.
🌸 Final Reminder
These days are very short, but their rewards are enormous.
Maybe this is your opportunity to:
- erase past sins,
- increase your good deeds,
- return sincerely to Allah,
- and change your life for the better.
Do not allow these blessed days to pass like ordinary days.
May Allah allow us to witness these blessed days, fill them with righteous deeds, forgive our sins, and accept our عبادات.
🤲 Ameen.

Deeds That Carry the Reward of Hajj
If a person is unable to perform Hajj due to financial hardship or other valid reasons, there are certain righteous deeds that carry rewards similar to that of Hajj and Umrah. However, it is important to understand that these deeds do not replace the obligation of Hajj for those who are able; rather, they resemble it in reward.
Below are some of these deeds:
1. Sitting for Dhikr After Fajr Until Sunrise and Praying Two Rak‘ahs (Dhuha)
The Prophet ﷺ mentioned that whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then remains seated remembering Allah until sunrise, and then performs two rak‘ahs of prayer, will receive a reward equivalent to that of a complete Hajj and Umrah.
He ﷺ said:
“Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, then prays two rak‘ahs, it will be for him like the reward of a complete Hajj and Umrah.”
(Reported by At-Tirmidhi)
This highlights the great virtue of remembrance of Allah during this blessed time.
2. Honoring and Serving One’s Parents
Kindness to parents is among the greatest deeds in Islam and can carry a reward comparable to Hajj and Umrah.
A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “I desire to participate in Jihad but I am unable.” The Prophet ﷺ asked him whether his parents were alive. When he replied that his mother was alive, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Then be dutiful to her, for if you do so, you will attain the reward of Hajj, Umrah, and Jihad.”
(Reported by Al-Bayhaqi)
This shows that serving and honoring parents is a path to immense reward.
3. Walking to the Mosque for Obligatory Prayer in a State of Purity
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever leaves his home in a state of purification to perform an obligatory prayer will have the reward of a pilgrim performing Hajj.”
(Reported by Abu Dawud)
Going to the mosque with sincerity and purity for the sake of prayer carries great spiritual reward.
4. Remembering Allah After the Obligatory Prayers
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that some poor companions complained that the wealthy were surpassing them in good deeds such as Hajj, charity, and other acts of worship.
The Prophet ﷺ then said:
“Shall I not teach you something by which you will surpass those before you and those after you? Say Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar after every prayer, thirty-three times each.”
(Reported by Al-Bukhari)
Regular remembrance of Allah after prayers elevates a believer’s status and multiplies rewards.
5. Attending or Teaching Knowledge in the Mosque
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever goes to the mosque seeking knowledge or to teach good, it is equivalent to the reward of Hajj.”
(Hadith reported with a good chain)
Seeking beneficial knowledge and teaching it are noble deeds with tremendous reward.
6. Assisting Others in Preparing for Good Deeds
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever prepares a person for battle, or supports his family in his absence, will have a reward similar to theirs without decreasing their reward in any way.”
(Reported in authentic collections)
By analogy, assisting others in acts of worship and supporting righteous causes can bring great reward.
Important Clarification
These deeds do not replace the obligation of Hajj for those who are financially and physically able to perform it. Rather, they are actions whose rewards resemble the reward of Hajj.
Imam An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) explained regarding similar narrations that the comparison refers to reward, not to the legal obligation itself.
Conclusion and Supplication
May Allah grant us the opportunity to visit His Sacred House as pilgrims in acceptance, forgive our sins, and return us purified as on the day our mothers gave birth to us. Ameen.
