Why Are Questions a Threat?

Because questions challenge power.
Questions expose ignorance.
Questions demand accountability.
Questions force leaders to admit what they do not know.

For many pastors who rely on charisma instead of study, this is dangerous ground.

So they shut it down:
• “It’s not your place to ask that.”
• “Don’t question God.”
• “This is how we do it here.”

Even when pastors attempt to answer questions, many do so poorly. They pull verses out of context, overspiritualise simple issues, or hide behind vague explanations. Members leave feeling even more confused.

This kills the internal excitement of discovery.

Most people have never experienced the pleasure of understanding something fully. They don’t know what it feels like to have clarity flood the mind. They’ve never felt the spark that comes from having a long-standing question answered properly.

And without that spark, the desire to know disappears.
