The late-night question

Idorenyin is a grade five pupil who had common entrance exams approaching, he grew cold feet not because he wasn't smart but he lacked confidence.
We gave him the boost he needed by explaining to him that you cannot understand what you do not love, he gave mathematics a chance and gradually he fell in love 😁
He went from "I am bad at Maths" to "I can explain it to you if you want"
We don't just teach formulas, we teach confidence.

The Tutor Who Listens First.

As a teacher, it is important that after each lesson your students get impact, that is basically the joy of teaching.

The impact may or may not be related to the title of your lesson, a sad child may become happy after an encounter with you for a few minutes... This is why I decided to be "the tutor who listens first".

It starts by asking, "how are you doing today?" Call some names and ask what they think about previous lessons, this shouldn't take long and then introduce the lesson.

Happy Boxing Day!

Traditionally, it was the day when “Christmas boxes” (gifts, money, or leftovers) were given to servants, workers, and people in need.
Churches also opened donation boxes on this day to help the poor.
The word “boxing” comes from these gift boxes, not from the sport.

As a Parent, plan for a better year ahead, I have a few ways you can achieve that...
You can add yours in the comment please..

1. Reflect on what was stressful and draining, choose peace by eliminating the stress inducers.

2. Involve your kids, they do better when they feel included,ask them "What do you want to get better at this year?" Let them dream big first - then help make it realistic.

3. Save for rainy days - ask yourself, "who can help when i'm overwhelmed and can't keep up with the bills?" "What can I let go of when things get hard?", " Keep a separate account for emergencies" .

4. Set realistic academic goals, do not pressure them with the folktales of coming top of the class like most parents do, even my own business oriented father told me that story.. God rest his soul, Amen. I believed until I grew up to understand they were just trying to motivate us in a way that seemed best at the time. Most times, hours spent in school doesn't yield desirable results, do not be discouraged, you can add night prep to their schedules 30 minutes before bed, weekend quizzes where the best performing child gets a reward or if you do not have the time, get a tutor for your kids, it could be online or offline, both yields outstanding results.

A parent who knows the value of quality education, will invest likewise.
