FSJ — Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr (Voluntary Social Year)
A voluntary placement in social sectors such as hospitals, kindergartens, elderly care, community programs.
Duration:
Usually 12 months (can be 6–18 months depending on placement)
Pocket Money / Benefits:
Monthly pocket money ranging from 450-520 euros.
Social insurance coverage by workplace
Age Limit:
16 – 26 years
Appointment waiting period period at the German consulate Lagos : 12 weeks
German language
* Minimum A1 or A2 level
* Some placements require B1 (especially healthcare)
