Parents, let's be mindful of our words and actions in front of our kids. I recently heard a child sharing with classmates how her parents fight and use hurtful language towards each other. Children learn from what they see, and this behavior can negatively impact their well-being and relationships. Let's strive to model healthy communication and conflict resolution for our kids' sake. Let's create a positive environment for them to grow and thrive.

'A' vs 'AN'
here's a simple rule:
Use "a" before words that start with a consonant sound. Examples:
a cat
a book
a university (note that "university" starts with a "u" which makes a consonant sound /juː/)
Use "an" before words that start with a vowel sound. Examples:
an apple
an egg
an hour (note that "hour" starts with a silent "h" which makes a vowel sound).

"IT'S" Vs "ITS"
How to use "It's" vs "Its"
Here's a simple rule:
"It's" (with an apostrophe) is a contraction of "it is" or "it has".
Example: "It's a beautiful day today." (meaning "it is")
"Its" (without an apostrophe) shows possession, meaning something belongs to "it".
Example: "The cat chased its tail." (meaning "the tail belongs to it")
