“Carbon is not the enemy; mismanagement is.” – Prof. M. Usman

For years, we’ve blamed carbon for climate change. But what if the real problem is how we manage our resources?

Every day, tons of CO₂ are released from our use of fossil fuels — not because carbon is evil, but because we haven’t developed proper systems to reuse and repurpose it. We treat resources in a “use and dump” fashion, instead of learning from nature’s circular model where nothing goes to waste.

Imagine a world where every atom of carbon is captured, reused, and turned into something valuable.

The truth is that climate change isn’t just a carbon issue, it’s a human behaviour issue. We consume irresponsibly, transition hastily from one energy source to another, and expect different results. It’s time to shift focus from just “energy efficiency” to resource utilisation efficiency.

Let’s stop running from carbon and start working with it wisely, sustainably and creatively.

Verdict: Carbon is NOT guilty; mismanagement is to blame.
