Naps are like superfood for toddlers and children! 😴 Here are some benefits:

It helps Brain development: Naps help process and consolidate memories, making it easier for kids to learn and remember new things.

For Better Behavior: A well-rested child is a happy child! Naps can reduce tantrums and crankiness.

It Improves mood: Naps help regulate emotions, making kids more patient and less irritable.

Physical growth: Growth hormones are released during sleep, helping kids grow stronger and taller.

Boosts immune system: Naps help fight off infections and keep kids healthy.

Better sleep at night: Regular naps can lead to better nighttime sleep habits.

Here are Possible reasons parents should look into.

1. Same Food🤔:
Change the food your child takes to school, sometimes they get tired of eating the same thing over and over after a period of time. Change their food to school, it makes them excited and happy during lunch hour, especially when they know what they will be eating.

2. Plane food:
Always garnish their food, with protein and vegetables. Stop making their food regular and the same styles. If it is rice, sometimes add plantain or greens or peas or carrot,.just garnish their food, make it in a different way, it makes them excited to eat.

3. Their Plate/food flask:
Please if the flask smells funny or you notice something wrong please change it. Some food flasks make the food spoilt quickly, making it unhealthy over time. Pay attention.

4. Contemptment:
Teach your child to like and appreciate what you give to them, some children prefer other people's thing over theirs, it's a very bad habit. Teach your child to be thankful for everything.

Expecting Perfection All the Time

As parents, we want the best for our children. We strive to provide them with opportunities, guidance, and support to help them succeed. However, in our pursuit of excellence, expecting perfection from our children can be detrimental to their emotional and psychological well-being.

When we emphasize the need for perfection, children may feel like they're walking on thin ice. They may become overly anxious, fearing that mistakes will lead to disappointment or rejection.

This pressure can lead to:
1. Fear of failure
2. Low self-esteem
3. Stress and anxiety

On the other hand, when we allow our children to make mistakes and view failures as learning opportunities, we give them the freedom to:

1. Develop resilience: Children learn to bounce back from setbacks.
2. Build self-confidence: By acknowledging and learning from mistakes, children develop a more realistic and positive self-image.

Tips for parents
1. Focus on progress✅ not perfection❌
2. Encourage learning from mistakes: Help your child reflect on what went wrong and how they can improve next time.
3. Model healthy attitudes: Share your own experiences of mistakes and learning, showing your child that it's okay not to be perfect.

Lets also remember to be the example they need.

Parents want the best for their children but sometimes they end up doing things that discourage them.
Most of the time, it’s not intentional, it is just habits or words that seem harmless
One of these is "COMPARISM"

“Look at your Sister she’s always top of her class,” it sounds motivating, but it often makes children feel they’re never good enough.
Whenever you talk to them about doing better, never mentioned anyone.
Never say "look at how your sister behave" ❌
Say "You are a good girl, good girls behave this way"✅
Never say "Tito is the best in the class why can't you be like her"❌
Say "You got a good grade in English and maths, you can do better science"✅
Instead of comparing, notice and celebrate your child’s own progress.

Your child wants to know that you notice their efforts. While trying to be the best parent, please never compare them.
